LOL. Look at it as you like, $2000 over 6 years is less than I ( and probably most people) spend on TV, internet, electric, property taxes, clothing, phone service, tennis club membership, movie tickets, Medicare Part B, heating oil, pretzels, stock market losses (but they are off set by gains) ... :) I'll take spending $2k over 6 years to drive a Ferrari over $1k every year on a new iPhone any day. I'm proud to still be a flip phone owner. :D And at least when you're done with a Ferrari it's not obsolete.

You know John, as you gave me crap yesterday for not driving my car, I was rather surprised to see your 8k to my 5.5k. Not all that far off ;)

It's actually closer to 9k miles. And I even drove the 308 around the block once this year. :D

Let me put it this way. You have spent $2000 in maintenance but have only driven 8k miles. That's 4 bucks a mile..I think that pretty high..

For a Ferrari, I think it is!

Sounds cheaper than my (unnecessary) $25K+ and 4k miles. :D

The F355 may appreciate in a few years, negating the little monies.

M feeling from my own experiences is well maintained 355 do not cost that much per year.
Many are not well maintained and cost a lot to get them to that point. I Do not feel they are that bad.

I bought my car when it was still fairly new.
My biggest expences were cats, headers, and the transmission which was broke but not failing when i bought it.
Thnk thats why they bought a new one. Ferrari likely told them. The transmission was 40k to fix.
    Who knows.

On my car the cats were necessary to register the car due to a required sniff test. I knew they were necessary and they could have been replaced as part of the purchase but 1) I knew I could get the cats cheaper and install them myself, and 2) I wanted to try to sneak it by w/o new cats (almost passed). So they should really be considered part of the purchase price. The other stuff are just old parts that went bad. Hell, I had to replace the top computer on my 2003 Z4 2 weeks after I got it back in 09. Thankfully it was covered by the warranty. Then about a year later I had to replace the MAF on that car. That was in 2010 with about the same total mileage as I have on my 355.

And who hasn't replaced a CV boot or two?

I suspect I can go the next 7000 miles/ 6 years trouble free. That will take me to the major (15k) in 2024. :D

Positive post. Low cost of ownership is awesome.
