Been lurking on this forum for years. Currently looking at a couple different 2012-2013 FFs in the $140-155 range. The lead horse at the moment is a 2012 I can add the 1 year Power warranty to. Is it possible to go beyond 1 year? My local dealer said no. Is there anything else I should be adding into the overall negotiating package? Ala the equivalent of “and throw in some all weather mats” I’m only looking at FFs currently in inventory at F dealers. No private sale cars for what ts worth.
Congrats on closing in.....AFIK Power is year to year warranty renewable for up to 12 years.....you can always ask to throw in some extras, worst they could say is no....
Generally speaking they have a lot of room at the "boutique" - ie clothes, accessories, etc. Also, you can ask for a "detail" etc. The warranty should go well beyond a year but you do have to buy it every year. That may be the miscommunication with the dealer. Best of luck! Erik
I was told you buy it every year - they do an inspection to make sure the vehicle is still 'eligible'. I had it on my California for 1 year and didn't use it so I never renewed it. Thanks, Erik
Highly recommend a new battery. When my FF was delivered, I had to have it taken back to the dealer twice before they finally put in a new battery. Very frustrating and can impact the initial Ferrari experience. Best of luck. I am sure you will love the FF! Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
I think a new battery and a power warranty is good thing to ask, as part of negotiation. These are not cheap and also the dealer are more likely used to these kind of request.
Make sure it has the battery maintainer or they provide one. My dealer said anything more than 3 days requires the battery to be on the charger. With all the posts about dead batteries I believe it.
Well. Ask for a lot. See what you get. 1 if you are in the area and this will be an ongoing relationship you’ll get more but ask for less. Is the maintenance still in effect? Until when? 2 consider paint correction ceramic etc through dealer as part of deal. 3 tires? If older replace but CPO new power will need all tires to be relatively ok. 4. All books and records and keys. If not with the car replace? 5 cash or finance? Ferrari financial is great and the dealer gets credit even if you pay it off in 3 months ( less nit so much). Ferrari financial has great rates and they do not report if that matters to you. I had 1% on my Cali. 6 if you have a local dealer, go in and see if your salesman can get the car you want at your price. They will trade for a car at another dealership so the price is the same and you don’t deal, with shipping. You get a good relationship with your local team. Makes life easier. 7 renewing warranty. There can be a discount. One dealer at least on this board may help with that - I’ll leave him to contact you post sale. 8 the warranty is about 8k per year for the 12 cylinder cars. Some dealers say that a car is eligible and add the price. I’ve always asked for it to be included at the asking price. You can ask. Good luck. Pictures when able. No matter what you pay, the warranty is better to have and in the end your smile will be so wide, you’ll not remember the cost. Scott
1% was 2015. I hated paying it off. Secret they give different rates to different customers based on dealer and not your credit per se. I need to find a F12.
FWIW New Power Warranty may be purchases year to year, no " pre-buying 3 years " at one time for example. **** New Power Warranty MSRP is $5,760 per year ( before discounts ) and you may purchase it up to the 15th year from sales date! S **** The only variable is if the car is still within the 3 year factory warranty, you have the option of extending the warranty for 1 or 2 years.
Not exactly sure. But it’s a nebulous process. Suffice it to say the rate can go down after you’ve been offered based on other factors like after sales etc. there would appear to be some leeway. Not based on credit per se as the rate was different t at the same time for similar FFs at two Ferrari dealers. Scott
Let the record show I learned a hard lesson. Buy the car when you find the car. Drove the rosso Maranello FF that was at Ferrari of San Fran. Right price right options but for personal reasons I decided to sit on any decision until December (work Travel has also been a factor). And now it’s sold May settle for a rosso corsa (Maranello a much classier red for a car to drive around town). Going to go look at the one in Denver and maybe CFL in a week. Maranello in person is perfection. Argh.
Just remember, when you’re the buyer and you don’t have to buy something, you’re the one in control. You’ll find the right one.
Learned that lesson. Don’t rush. When I was looking Scottsdale had a Nero stellato FF I wanted. Sold as I made my offer (for less) it sold. I bought another after a bit (local). It was traded back in with 500 miles about one month later. And offered back to me. Don’t settle. They are out there . Get exactly what you want. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
You think it’s possible to wait and score a rosso Maranello? 90% of the listings at Ferrari dealerships are Nero or White.
