I thought it would be nice to start a thread on this great event. Please share your pictures and stories!

This was my sixth visit to a magical step back in time. The first was in 1999. This year I was joined by my sister's two sons, 20 and 26 years old. That was a first and it was great to show them around and tell them about the cars and venue. They know a thing or two as well, no surprise considering that my oldest nephew works at Lotus in Norwich and they're both good at karting.

The weather was great and the Revival is one big fashion show. One could spend all day just watching people walk by in all kinds of periode clothing.
We had a great time and some special experiences like a ride in a WWII Jeep which was used in Saving Private Ryan and Fury. The seat in which Brad Pitt sat during the filming of Fury was safely at home with the wife of the owner. To each their own!

To those who have never been to Goodwood Revival: put it on your bucket list. It's expensive, but worth it. Be advised though that hotels are often booked a year in advance and tickets do sell out, especially for Saturday. For on track action Friday is prefered, as all 16 race categories will have to qualify. On Saturday and Sunday the races are split, so if you go just one of those days you'll miss half of the action.

    Best, Peter

Therein lies the problem. Like you I have been going since it started, but, sadly, the fashion show has overtaken the racing and the event has become overcrowded with the dressing-up brigade, which is why I have stopped going. Members' meeting in the Spring is OK, though.

I've never been there, but looking at the pictures with period appropriate attire looks kind of cool. If they have the clothes, why not have fun with it... c'mon how bad is it seeing this?...

We've attended seven Revivals beginning in 2002, GRRC member since then, but once Members' Meeting was born we've been going to that instead. Revival has become a bit too frantic for us. MM is in more of a human scale, as you know, but oh my god.....the weather. Perhaps pushing it into April for 2019 will make for a better experience. Maybe we could have an FChat meet-up.

Carlo Vogele's 330GTO was racing there and its totally legit although some would argue its not a proper GTO.

My feelings exactly John. I have also stopped going, but the MM is very good. Hopefully it will be warmer next year

It’s called familiarity breeds contempt, after 20 years of going to Monterey, I prefer going to the Revival.

There were no real 250 GTOs in attendance, though as stated above '330 GTO' 4561SA is a bit of a fixture at Revival now.

Two 250 GTO replicas in attendance: one built on 330 GT 2+2 s/n 6713 that the Duke of Richmond was tooling about in (and which numerous individuals were claiming was real). I've said before, if replicas are present then people should be honest about what they are. If you knowingly say "yep, that's a real one" when you know full well that it isn't, you should be put in the stocks. The other was the silver replica of 3851GT (s/n unknown, but it *could* be 7225 - still investigating). Given what the real car has been through, the idea that a bit of racing damage might affect its value is ludicrous. Oh well.

Another GTO replica, this time referred to as a 330 GTO recreation, was built up on s/n 7695GT (330 GT 2+2 again).

Plenty of people said they'd rather have seen a fake GTO than none at all. I'm not one of them.

The other silver replica is 3731GT.

Wasn't 3731GT LHD, even as a GTO replica? If it is the silver car trying to be 3851GT was it converted to RHD before this deception was attempted? Another online source is now listing this car as 3731GT while their original article on the event did not list a number, as per the list on the copy of this same article on the FOC website.

Does anyone know where this information has come from since the original article was posted?

FWIW 3731 GT was born as a standard 250 GTE 2+2 LHD, originally painted Grigio Notte 18933 M Italver with read leather VM 3171 and it was completed on the 24th July 1962.
