    Even the B-29 in WW2 did not have nosewheel steering; it was free castering... added it with the B-50 version.

    Here is another good youtube channel. At around 5:00 they start there takeoff. You can see that the left seat is operating the tiller and the right seat is covering the yoke until 80 Kts then the pilot on the left becomes the pilot flying and the right is the pilot monitoring.
