Bottas shows some class. I actually feel for the guy.
I have a feeling, Ham will have an upcoming grid penalty. That oily engine might well be a team concern. Thus, getting points now in case of a non podium finish or a DNF.
50 points down with 5 races to go, and no signs of even being equal with Mercedes let alone being better. My optimism is waning.
Predictable team orders situation for Mercedes. Not the best or worst race. Ferrari on the back foot overall. No driver of the day for me. They raced with nothing overall exceptional.
It shows. Things seemed different almost immediately. Monza felt “desperate”. Ferrari no longer seemed to be the team to beat.
When Sky showed the shot of Lewis talking to him at Parc Ferme, Bottas looked like a broken man. I really feel for him, but he has a job to do, and bosses to listen to.
Rather unfair and somehow bias, bearing in mind that even the "great" Schumacher benefited himself from team orders many times. Just ask Eddie Irvine or Rubens Barrichello if you don't believe me. Team orders are "part and parcel" of F1, that we like it or not. Team that haven't imposed discipline when they were within chance of clinching a title ended up very disappointed by the result. Again ask yourself how Prost took a title on a slower car when Frank Williams let Mansell and Piquet fight it out all season with a car that was a sure winner. Or back to 2007 ( i'm sure you will like it), when Ron Dennis didn't impose team orders between Hamilton and Alonso, and lost a certain title that went to Ferrari instead! There is far too much at stake these days to take a risk.
If you still have any hope for Ferrari to win any title, I have some oceanfront property for sale in Minnesota----CHEAP!
Right after the race Bottas mumbled to Di Resta 'i thought i was going to go'...then it tailed off.....im assuming he wanted to continue on to say ' on and be allowed to win' in other words what happened was not what had been agreed in the pre race briefing.
