Not sure what your question is about the suspension and brake calipers.

Regarding the top, I think I see what you are talking about. Here is another picture of my roof and a different one for sale. I will also ask the restorer about it.

Hi again Edward, from the restorer, about the top:

"The bumps you're seeing are of the convertible top bows. It's normal and common to see on cars. They're actual extra leather pieces to help protect those areas. I've also attached a picture of another car here that has that bump."

First three are my car, 4th is another. It also doesn't lok as pronoun Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login ced as in the picture by the professional photographer. Maybe it has something to do with aperture settings. I don't know.

It has patina'ed. It's old cad plating, done about 10 years ago. It was in the first batch of work when we started the car. But it is silver cad.

    Hi,

    Me too! :D

Although I have always found it a bit hypocratical to call the Series 3 coupé FHC, as they are all in fact 2+2s. :)

The only reason the nomenclature "2+2" exists is the fact that ALL 6-cyl cars that were SWB were 2-seaters and the LWB that came in 1996 was a 2+2. Had Jaguar never made the 40.000+ SWB cars they would of course have been called FHC's. So between 1966 and 1971 you had two kinds of coupes, SWB 2-seater coupes and LWB 2+2 seater coupes. As ALL V12 was (Series 3) are LWB there is only the OTS (Open Two Seater) roadster and the FHC (Fixed Head Coupé) which is actually a 2+2.

Ok, I'll get off the soap box. :) Cheers!

I tried to start mine up recently after sitting for a short spell and I found gas leaking - since the carbs are in fairly good shape, I doubt it's that but I couldn't locate the source.

I'm fixing to send it back to Terry Lippincott once I get a chance.
