#1655GT raced at least one hillclimb in 1963 and #1801GT seems to have been used as a pace car and had a competition engine (280 HP)but I didn't find any race were she could be used .

I know its a cabriolet but I guess if this one had a competition engine maybe there can be a coupé too if of course it was the original engine and that it was not upgraded .
I have a photo of an unidentified PF S2 cabriolet with licence plate at the coupes de Bruxelles in 1962 who had 4 lights (+ the 2 headlights of the car )seems to be mounted on the front bumper with belgian licence plate 799.Z.8 or B but its darker of grigio argento .

1801gt - was it a factory installed comp engine? Seemed to have had its engine swapped into a swb and then in 2005 swapped back. What's the build sheet say?

Was limited slip standard on all the PF's? When did it become available?

the engine put in 1801GT was the one of 2069GT but this swb was a Lusso and if we can believe the book of the Garage/Ecurie Francorchamps by Gianni Rogliatti made with the help of Jacques Swaters and his archives this SWB had a 230HP engine .

But the build sheet engine was the standard coupe engine? Soon replaced by the swb engine?

    • I have a special series 2 that has a factory full competition engine, limited slip, faster steering ratio, rally light, and rally map pockets built for a known competition driver. (European hill climb champion, raced f1, Ferrari loaned him factory cars). Believed to have been built for tours like the Tour de France but then he moved stateside and car rerouted.

Please keep this thread going. I almost brought #1637 in 2003 or so for $60,000 with the tool kit. Back then it was white and looked like it had been painted with a house brush.

During 2005 I looked at the restored maroon (Texas A&M livery) and tan 250PF coupe that was for sale, in Houston. Unfortunately, I choose the Boxer for the exact same price.

The car in the shed in Victoria was 1417 which was sold by Classic Throttle Shop in late 2015, also being restored. Text from the CTS ad

" Car has not run in years, rust in sills, guards. Paint crazed. Original but needs full restoration "barn find" The term barn find is used a lot these days for cars that have never seen a barn in their life, however in the case of our Ferrari 250 PF Coupe this cannot be disputed. This wonderful 250 PF has been tucked away for over 25 years in a dry but open storage barn in Victoria, having been put aside with several other rare cars. Chassis number 1417 GT was commissioned on the 23rd of April 1959 with body number 22177 and delivered via Luigi Chinetti Motors later in that year. Originally finished in Bordeaux with red leather trim and optioned with a kilometre speedo this expensive Ferrari was soon bought by Arnold Glass of Australia c 1959/1960 and brought to Australia and converted to RHD according to an article in the Ferrari owners club in the UK published in 1973. The car then passed through three more owners until ending up going into storage in the late Eighties where it has laid up waiting to be given a new lease of life."

Yes, it is a one-off. Built for first owner Carlo Vitale of Wax & Vitale S.a.s., in Genova/Italy.
Wax & Vitale were special Ferrari clients in Maranello and also the “Johnny Walker” whisky importers in Italy.
Dr. Enrico Wax also owned a series of special Ferraris (to name a few: 033 S, 0425 GT, 0671 SA, 0945 GT, 1709 GT, 1739 GT, 06925, etc.) .

Aardy, I wondered if there were any older pictures of this car. I first saw this car around the time of Marcel's pictures.

Yes, it would be fantastic to see an old picture of this car, especially with these special features...
