Can someone tell me the orientation of the front (cones) and rear (flat) spacers on their engine mounts. On the fronts, do they mount like ice cream cones (larger diameter uppermost) so as to trap the mount in the recess or like traffic cones so as to distribute the load over a broader area?

WSM shows "traffic cone" orientation, but I do not believe this is correct.

The recessed areas are suppose to be up. Sometimes you may find washers in the recessed areas or they may be turned upside down to compensate for sagging mounts.

When I took the engine out of my 83 308QV, I found the following bolts, washers and a single spacer as per the attached picture. I did not find anything resembling a "cone". I'm sure the engine has been out multiple times, and things are probably not in the correct order. For instance, there was only 1 "spacer" (#30 in the parts diagram). Some help would be appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Paul

Ok, I found the "cones" in the 1979 308 parts manual. I also found the big washers there as well. It appears that my car has a combo of mounting hardware. Can anyone tell me what's correct? Also, regarding the shims (which I did not find on my car), what is their purpose? Are there measurements that should be adhered to?

Could you possibly tell me the length an size of the rear bolts? the pitch would be overasking, but I'm missing mine and can't find replacements anywhere. 1978 GTS

How come the spacer is associated with the short bolts ?

I understand the spacers are on the front mounts ?

There can be one spacer or many, while I am unsure what the spec they were achieving actually was, you should note "where they come from" and normally put them back after a mount change.
