Willi Khausen once told me a funny story:

When he became race director of Alfa Romeo Delta, he went thru the race department with a mechanic and told him to load the truck with "...this 3 engines, this 3 gearboxes, this tools, this other parts etc." to the next race (1000 km Nürburgring, part of the Worldchampionship!). On the morning he truck had to leave to Germany he still found all parts, engines, gearboxes etc., etc. in the race department. He stopped the truck, opened its rear doors and found tons of pasta, vino and cheese loaded instead of the the much needed equippment! :rolleyes:Only in Italy......

Can you imagine a better picnic table ? Do you think the food smelled like oil or gasoline ?

I was there somewhere. As I recall their lunch looked a lot better than the track food.

I remember that. After the race my friend and I got on the track and went into the Ferrari pit. They left a bunch of salami and butter sandwiches behind, so we chowed down. :)

    Dear,

I was wondering if there is someone here on the forum who knows where the 512 S Special has stayed.

Those were good times at Watkins Glen in the 70s. The screaming Matra V12s, the Ferrari flat 12s, the BRMs and later the 12-cylinder Alfas too. The mechanics spent more time chatting up the local college girls than working on the cars; when they did work on the cars they did so with cigarettes hanging while they fueled.....miracle they never blew up the garage building.

GREAT times! I shivered in the mud like everyone else but wouldn't trade those days for anything. BTW I don't remember many stray college girls and I was looking--guess they just weren't looking at me.;)

True, I mean the yellow car. I once understood that the car was in a museum in France but I never really could find anything out of it. Is it possible to view the car or is the car in a private collection? If the car is in a museum, which museum is that?

    Kool, thank you.
Now we need a shot showing the rear of this car (hopefully with the license plate), to be able to identify this 250 GT PF Coupé.

Recently I had a box full of 35mm Ferrari slides from the '70's - '80's digitized. There are 100's. I'll try to post them, but it's quite a task. I apologize in advance, in that I may have posted some of these in years past. I just can't remember what I posted and what I didn't. So bear with me.
