Going with the Lime Rock Drivers Club on fall rally last Sunday. Fun drive and a cool group of cars. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Well it survived! All dried off and put into the #6 spot for the winter. We are forecast for flurries tonight but we probably have another week or two until it stays around.
Good day Ak Jim, Too bad about the potential snow flurries... however, if it is any consolation we have had multiple snow falls for several weeks now (September was our worst since 1968). In fact last week around 180 miles South of me (Calgary) received about 15" in one big wollup. Your car looks nicely buttoned up for the season! Cheers, Sam
Wow, crazy! Here in northwest CT, we still probably have a few more weeks of driving weather. When are you typically able to pull them out for the first drive after the winter?
I went for a dip in our river last week. Hoping to get one more warm weather dip in. Then of course theres always polar bearing on New Years day if its not frozen solid!
I love my wife, but I admit she is who she is, so let’s remember her golden rules; rule number 1 is every day on vacation starts with champagne and rule number 2 is she refuses to get into the pool if the water temp dips below 82 degrees.
Good day Jason, Crazy is not the word we are using around here...we have a few more spirited words that more aptly describes all of our feelings at this early onset of Winter... We are about 2 months ahead of where we should be. This year Winter did not leave us until mid May... and now Late Fall/early Winter started the 1st week of September... so we had Spring, Summer, and Fall happen in about 3 months! As for when we usually have our first drive... It is usually a crap shoot every year and Winter/Spring somewhat take turns coming and going. So the weather can be nice (but chilly) in late March/early April, but then a Winter can still snap back for a few days with a snow dump. This all adds up to a relatively short driving season ... So, to all of you that have driving weather, I say take the cars out and enjoy it while you can! Cheers, Sam

That is a great color! I wanted to go with a similar color but with my dark brown interior I don't think it would work.
The car was originally Azzurro Hyperion, a light metallic blue and the interior is a mid to dark blue VM3282. I am in touch with the car’s original 1973 owner who sold the car on in 1975. He bought the car again in the mid-eighties by which time it had been colour changed to dark blue. The car is listed in Raab and various Ferrari Club records as dark blue. The colours of the car and it’s interior are fairly similar now and although I would prefer a contrasting interior like beige or cream it would be a shame to change the original interior which is in great condition
Has finally arrived and spent the weekend 50mins drive from me in a lock up, will see it tomorrow morning for the first time after nearly 3 months since I purchased it at auction. Anxious, (already passed inspection for no rust and no insects) Image Unavailable, Please Login
From the UK. Engine needs a good clean has done 14,000 km since its full rebuild in 1996 and it presents well. Dirty suspension but with a clean all painted suspension arms and shocks etc should come up well. Went for a 15 min drive today with UK plates on (no police saw me luckily) and it runs well with plenty of power and shifts gears nicely. Needs full service and headers are leaking at engine. Replace Filters and oils, clean and more clean, fix exhaust leak, install pioneer 1978 KPX9500 stereo instead of the 80s Alpine. 4 new XWX tires instead of the low profile 225 ones And then drive it. Over all very happy.
Hi All, Although I now own a 412, I can’t help collecting information about other 400/412 Ferraris. Naturally, the internet is particularly suitable for this. Fortunately, you still find many sites that you think would have been erased for a long time. And sometimes you do real discoveries. Just like I did yesterday. While browsing Images for Ferrari 412, more images for Ferrari 412, one image in particular got my attention. The spitting images of mine! And on closer inspection, I was right, it was about the car I bought in the month of june this year. With pictures I had never seen. And a sound clip with the engine taking some refs, a sound clip with the car on the road and a video clip with quite some acceleration and exhaust sound. (The soundrecorder even went over its limits.) https://www.classicargarage.com/garages/smiths/sold/ferrari-412-1986 So, in all probability, they haven’t been able to find a buyer in time, and the owner moved it to The Gallery, where I bought it. Enjoy the pics!
@PetMar, see my blogs: https://erwin400.blogspot.com/2016/12/usa-ferrari-412-first-owner.html https://erwin400.blogspot.com/2017/01/interclassics-mecc-maastricht-2017-6-x.html I did happen to spot it at the Gallery on June 15th:
