I’m trying to decide which tune to go with for my 458? Any suggestions?
most people do it just to say the car is "tuned" or they want to bring back the exhaust crackle. I however tuned mine to run e85
Wouldn’t make a difference unless you have no more cats. You could then accelerate the fuel dump on decel.
It does but we cant make the car into a flex fuel like some OE application. So you have to run e85 100% of the time which doesnt always work for some people. I just happen to have a e85 station a mile from my shop so i take advantage of it. Sent you a private message
What's the benefit of running E85? We try to avoid that at all costs around here. Am I missing something?
advantage of advanced timing like race fuel without the cost. mpg isnt as good, should always wash the system every so often as it can be harsh on certain components.
I notice at the pumps here that E85 has higher octane. You can take advantage of that? I was always told to stay aware from it though, probably for the harshness you site. I think I've only pumped it into a rental car when I returned it because of the lower price.
On the twin turbo cars i build we will splash the tank with a few gallons with a pump gas mix to raise octane. However they are not directly tuned for just e85 it takes a lot more fuel volume to run e85. You could do the same on your car but not able to fully gain the benefits of it without a retune of the stock ecu.
