This should be a fun one. I would love to see Core win the prototype championship with the P2. Odds are against them with the latest round of BoP changes. https://racer.com/2018/10/08/imsa-confirms-final-bop-adjustments-for-petit-le-mans/ The most interesting thing in GTLM for me is the new liveries for Porsche. Finally they look good. Oh...and..Risi is back! IMSA really isn't the same without Ferrari in GTLM. I really hope they can get a full time program together for next year. GTD..I am pulling for Katherine Legge. I love that they were only supposed to do a partial season and are no in contention. The new livery for the #48 Lambo is pretty sick too. Anyone else watching or attending? This will be my first PLM and I can't wait! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
That Porsche livery is gorgeous. Not a fan of the team though. I'm rooting for Legge. She's driven her heart out this season. Whether Core wins or not, they're my team of the year. Colin has put in some absolutely spectacular drives.
I prefer Cockroaches - they're hard to kill, they are seemingly everywhere, and they will outlive all other race cars.
It's nice to see Risi Competizione back on the grid. Note the NART sticker on the car! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
A few more from the autograph session. Penske had the longest line, but Ganassi's guys did plenty of signing as well. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I'm really bummed this season is over. It's been some of the best racing I've watched in a LONG time. I couldn't believe how close everything was even on the last lap of the race. I thought the Corvette team lost it with their pit incident. Glad they didn't. Bummed that Core couldn't bring it home but they put in one hell of a performance this season in a car that IMSA didn't want being at the front. Bummed that Legge couldn't pull off the championship but they gave it their all. Paul Miller Racing put in a great drive this season and they are deserving of the title. I doubt that Montoya returns next season with Penske. Too many errors this season.
Finally finished going through all my photos from the weekend. For anyone interested my full album is here. It's big... https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.2047186641986342&type=1&l=dc344dd3a5 More condensed album here. https://theslipanglephotography.com/p10162487
Thanks guys! I am really happy with how a lot of the shots came out. Still a lot I want to improve upon. Can't wait for Daytona..
Hobbyist. Would love to some day be able to consider myself a pro. I still have a long ways to go before I get to that level. Everything is taken from outside the fence. Just takes some creativity to get good angles. A number of my shots are through cutouts in the fencing for corner workers and track marshals. Daytona you just need a step ladder from the Target across the street. lol
Good work. Road Atlanta does have a lot of good spots to shoot from without photo access. And the last time I went to Daytona I drove, so I took a ladder.
Most of the tracks I have been to have been really good for spectators and shooting photos. Really the only ones that haven't been good have been street circuits...and Monza. Monza has tall fences all the way around and is pretty flat. Daytona is flat, but with something to stand on you can get over the fence. VIR, the Glen, Mid-Ohio are all really good for spectating.
