After reading the thread about brakes I was concerned and contacted my dealer. 2014 FF with 16,000 miles and service manager said no wear shown and no need to worry. He has seen most 458's and FF's with the same condition and hasn't replaced any pads/rotors from normal use, just heavy track users. Sigh of relief!

You can actually re-face the carbon brakes on any Ferrari/Maserati etc. There is a specialist in Germany that does this very well. They are used by lots of UK owners who use their cars on track. When I bought my previous car - Maserati MC Stradale - I was concerned about the cost to replace as Maserati was quoting £4500 PER DISC (about $6k). I would doubt anyone will need discs ever but if you do, don't rule out sending them to Germany!

Just want to shout out to Veloce12. I bought his wheels and he gave me a great price. A pleasure to deal with, very nice guy. Tribute to F-chatters!

How would you compare the driving and ownership experience between the MC and FF? These are 2 vehicles I am considering to DD. Thank you

They are very different! The MC Stradale is the bargain of all bargains at the moment in my honest opinion. I sold mine for £60k which was a 2 seater car, one of 2 made in nero pastello (gloss black non-metallic). The 2 seater cars have the carbon bucket seats from the Enzo and a host of subtle changes from a GTS which make it a very special car. The later 4 seaters are more practical but the extra seats remove some of the magic. To drive, the deletion of skyhook and return to proper suspension, the carbon brakes and the MC Shift with Race software combine to make it a real event. I couldn't recommend one more. Rubbish stereo but you can now get a kit that adds a clear screen on top of the factory one that brings up Apple or Android car play and drags it into the latest century! And the noise, oh the noise! Add a Larini club sport centre x-pipe and put the windows down.

The FF, by comparison, is so capable in all seasons, for all reasons. It has far more power than the Maserati but in reality, there is not much opportunity to use that! I have a very high spec FF from their customisation programme which makes it into a very nice thing indeed. I love it, I love the left field styling, the usable nature of the car, the fact that most people don't know what it is etc. I have added a Novitec Rosso exhaust as I missed the sound of the Stradale. I'm now happy!

2 different beasts, each very capable, each with strong merits. Different price points though.

Sorry Americans, you guys didn't get the proper full blood MC Stradale and that's a real shame!

I had an mc stradale for a few months when it came out. All show and no go. Literally the car was emotionless to drive and slow. Cant compare to an ff.

New to the forums. Looking at my first Ferrari and have pretty much settled on the fact that it will be an FF. I had been searching a lot to find a post like yours with an owner who has kept the car for years. That said, is there a limit to the miles you are wanting to end up at?

excellent retrospective, I was wondering if the crushed VAC hoses were due to exterior reasons or was this something to look out for in the general running?

    Thanks

    Thinking that in
The yearly warranty Ferrari includes 2k of serviced and the warranty cost 6k: Ferrari must be pretty darn sure their cars are strongly built !
