I’m thinking when the warranty and maintenance run out on my car that I may want to try and find a reputable mechanic to work on my car, rather than have to drive it or ship it up to Greensboro and pay dealer rates. Does anyone know of a good shop in the CHarlotte area where they take their Ferrari? Thanks.

There are plenty to chose from. In no particular order, with no implied preference, you could contact:
    • Automotive International
    • European Motorworks/Metrolina
    • Automotive Excellence
    • GMP Performance
If you're a little north of Charlotte, there's
    • HBI Auto (Statesville)
    • Autohaus Lake Norman
Places like HBI have enclosed pickup/delivery, and I suspect some of the others do too.

I highly recommend Automotive International. They have exclusively serviced my Ferraris since 2003 and take care of the vast majority of CAFE cars in the Charlotte area. Feel free to stop in for a visit. They will be more than happy to give you a tour of the facilities.

Not to hijack OP's thread, but would anyone recommend any of these places (or an alternative) for paint and body work? My 4C arrived with some scratches from shipping both in the paint and the carbon fiber tub, and I don't exactly want to take it to an Alfa dealer that would just contract out to someone else anyway. Thanks in advance for the help!

Dragster, I can also recommend Automotive International for your needs as well. They have always had two sides to their business - Mechanical and Paint/Body. Simply put, they do outstanding work. When you contact, you will probably speak with Jean Robitaille as he heads up the paint/body side and has done so since 2001.

On a side note, we hope you'll bring your 4C out in the spring and join us for our annual "Motori Italiani - A Celebration of Italian Motoring" event in South Charlotte!

Thanks for the info! I actually reached out to them via email and heard back from Peter. I'd like to swing by so they can take a look at my car.

Dragster, I second Automotive International - been using them exclusively for the 360 since 2009. Great people, awesome facility and can be your soup to nuts service provider (including paint and body if you ever needed).

Many high end vehicles in the Charlotte area use Caldwell Collision in Indian Trail for any collision and paint repair. They are the only Mercedes certified shop in the area and are Glasurit paint specialists. They have two locations split by domestic vehicles and the expensive cars Stop by and ask to see Carol Sims for an estimate and tour of the facility. I've dealt with them a few times and know many others that are very happy they went there.

    Good Luck......
