My 01 360 gated was my 1st f car purchase. If .... er uh.... when you have the means...... what is your 2nd F car purchase and why? ME - 2nd - 458 italia 3rd - TR 4th - 308gts...... 5th - dino..... yeah dreaming...... would you go older or newer for f car #2 IF funds were un limited?
I’d want a 458 and then a F12. However, for that same $200k for the 458, the 991.1 GT3RS is really calling my name! Only thing it’s missing is the cavallino badging! Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
360 Spider now, 458 Spider next because I can move into this car but then a 288 GTO (only in my dreams sorry to say). The look and sounds of the 288 is just very sexy. Love the look of the rear end, the flaired fenders and the traditional Ferrari exhaust sound.
Probably a 458, but I dunno...can’t say I’m really lusting after one. Sometimes I really wish I had a 2+2, so maybe a California or 911 turbo cab. More likely will look at a Lambo or maclaren.
If money was no object, I’d head right back to the 60’s no question about it. As for which model l would have to give it a lot of thought.
Ehh, I chose a gated 360 because it's at or near the "center of gravity" of my particular Ferrari wants and needs. I totally understand that a 488 owner might find it laughably slow, or a 246 owner might think it's soulless. But for what I was looking for, in terms of a mixture of classic and modern Ferrari traits. . . man, the 360 really hits the spot. As a result, while I still have a deep appreciation for other models, I'm not dying to add any to my garage anytime soon. It's not that other models aren't (hugely) appealing, it just like grocery shopping when you're full versus hungry. I'd probably feel the same way about an F355 or F430. Anything earlier or later and I think more of my original itch would have been left un-scratched.
458.. or 488 if I can afford it. Keeping my 360 manual. Paddles will get better each year but stick is eternal.
Hmm....that depends on if I am ever able to get over my "must be gated!" fetish. If not, I would probably go Gallardo or Murci...In all actuality, it would probably be another 360.
360 spider 6MT is a keeper. Older cars have too many maintenance costs and more modern no longer have 6MT transmissions, except 430, but they’re too rare. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
I'm a little surprised not a single person has mentioned the 430. I sold my 360 maybe 8 years ago. Now have a 912 and a 964. (manual transmission cars) I've been hunting for a Scud. The newer designs don't really appeal to me. Look more like space ships than ferrari's to me. And the older cars are less practical than my 912. I told my wife I need a car with decent AC, so I should get a Scud.
My first F car was a 360 CS. No other others needed. If pushed though, it would be a 599. I have always fancied a V12 GT. The F12 and 812 do nothing for me.
I love the manual Murci, it's my favorite lambo although I've heard they're a bit heavy and wieldy to drive compared to say a 360.
The Spider is my first love. But the 456 is a dream come true If I'm ever lucky enough to have a third, it would be a vintage model. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I have tons of respect for the 430. But it isn’t a significant enough step up from the 360 to go straight to one. Maybe if I had a few years Ferrari-free in between, as you did. Now, in scud or 16m form, that’s a different story absolutely i think I could say goodbye to my 360m. But theres a lot to choose from in the 16m price range.
The 6mt does have a certain intangible. If i had an f1 I think I’d approach this topic in a colder, more manner-of-fact way. Still lots of MT Gallardos out there that occasionally pique my interest. My current dd is a manual (Audi A5 3.2l) but it’s getting long in the tooth. When I replace it, it’s unlikely I will find something else in a manual and will go back to driving an automatic ....that may increase my appreciation of my 360mt even more.
The other cars in your stable will affect your answer here... My DD is an E36 M3 man trans car which I track and autocross. Wife has an M2. The 360 gated is the f car for me now.
I drove a 458 when they were new - great car, but felt very much like a playstation console at the time. Need to drive it again back to back with f12 when I'm ready to pull the trigger and see which one I like more.
