Some heavy duty Chevrolet history there, thank you! Anything special about the Laguna Blue 1966 Corvette 427 big block roadster beside the GS?
Hidden away under the glove box it is amazing the poor condition so many of the trim and chassis tags exhibit. Those tags in your picture by comparison look to be in spectacular condition! That L72 roadster with a hardtop no less sounds like a real gem, thank you.
Interesting Hemmings article today about how the Briggs Cunningham Le Mans Corvette has knocked around for years and may have finally found a forever home. The car certainly has a unique rear end treatment. Aerodynamics? They will have to locate the car first. Two of the owners are also involved with the "Zora" L88, I wonder if that car will get dragged into this?

When I was a design student in Los Angeles in the '70's, Bill Mitchell, GM Design, visited the school and brought several of his cars. One of my classmates jumped in the MantaRay and insisted I take his photo........ Image Unavailable, Please Login
John do you know when the car got the ZL1 engine assembly? Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
No, not for certain, but probably at a GM facility in Warren, MI. The Design used to care for Mitchell's cars, but I believe they now reside at the GM Heritage Center. Although I doubt the Heritage Center would have done an engine swap.
I found some documents at the Heritage Center which indicate that at least one(probably 2 or 3) ZL1 engine assemblies were directed to Styling in 1968.
