He probably should just stick a Chevy V8 in it and enjoy driving it. He can do as he likes, but being expected to just sit back and wait indefinitely with no updates or actual firm prospect of getting his car is a joke. I know I’d be exploring all other options. And suggesting that considering any other supplier except the one that the workshop wants to deal with is a recipe for disaster is total BS.

S: IFF always inoperative in OFF mode. P: Suspected crack in windshield. S: Suspect you're right. P: Number 3 engine missing. S: Engine found on right wing after brief search.
