'Our' 5-6 day jaunt each year costs me probably more than the rest at about $2-3K. I have different logisticts to attend to.
yeah, as way of comparison, TT tour cost around $5k entry fees, accommodation, food, ferry etc per person, but no 5 star accommodation or dinners, generally speaking BUT we were so tired by the end of each fabulous day driving from early morning till late afternoon with lots of real closed road driving, that as long as we could lie down, we were happy! Lunches were simple but good, organization was exceptional with full medical, emergency and mechanical recovery at hand. The competition TT people call the Tour the 'tea and bikkies' option, but unless you're a true competition standard driver the real TT is not an option for amateur drivers these days. Tour is just fabulous fun.
Have you posted on the US 355 section? There's a lot of guys as you know with really good info........I know how frustrating it is especially when it's electrical.....
That sounds much more like it. 8.5k is surely massively taking the p155, and must explain why so few entries. Even Ferrari owners aren’t that stupid.
Thanks Gary. Yes I have, and I’ve received a lot of very helpful advice, some of which I’ve acted upon. Due to that advice we have solved the initial gearchange problem (the car now drives beautifully), but we can’t seem to solve the beeping issue. The most common thought is that the clutch parameters simply aren’t set correctly, but both the dealer and Mario have checked this repeatedly and say that all the diagnostics are normal. That also wouldn’t explain the fact that this problem appeared before the clutch was changed.
Also I'm sure I can fix the beeping issue ................ just cut the wires going to the beeper .... job done
Nah. Unlike this stupid Ferrari caper that doesn’t tend to go off for no reason! (PC12 has a shaker / pusher system, and it won’t let you take off with it inoperative and not tested every flight).
In between washing the F-111 we use to test the pedal shaker whenever we changed the feel and trim or any of the pitot-static system Considering how complex planes are Ferraris really should be a piece of piss to fix and also be more reliable
Correct. By far the most frustrating aspect of this problem is that no-one really knows how to solve it. Everyone’s got their own ideas (most of which can be summarised as throwing money at various parts in the hope that one of them fixes it). It should not be this hard.
I think a lot of people want to do the driving and experience the event and are less focused on the accomodation / dinners, the Porsche and Ferrari "Targa Tours" are around 8.5 K and provide the 5 star experience if that's what someone is looking for.
yep, not all of the Targa Ferrari tour cars did all the special stages - of course it was the good guy and gal in the (yellow)308 who did!
CAMS ceases involvement with 2018 Targa Florio Tribute https://www.cams.com.au/media/news/latest-news/cams-ceases-involvement-with-targa-florio Last year the competetive side of the event was staffed by CAMS officials, with CAMS ceasing involvement it would imply no CAMS officials or CAMS event permit.
It was a bit of a stretch to call them 'competitive' events surely? Regularity runs over a couple of hundred metres. Is the event even proposed for this year - I haven't seen anything?
It is going to start this month on the 28th. A few of us from Hong Kong are attending (my F430 should hopefully be on the sea on its way now). We don't have roads like in Victoria here as you'd imagine. Kerrari - did you used to base in Hong Kong or am I remembering the wrong username?
Yes Justin I've lived in HK for a chunk of my life - will be back for a visit at Christmas (I miss the place...). Bri ging the cars to Aus is a fabulous idea but to be honest there is much better driving elsewhere than Vic (ultimate nanny state road policing); but I hope you have a great time! Look at doing Targa Tasmania Tour some time.
