I was thinking the very same thing about the language difference. It's easy to mis-understand on-line and even easier to mis-understand if there are two different languages involved.

I never thought it would get so ugly.

You are right and some people don't really try seem to understand this.

 

This reminds me of an american movie I saw recently. At a New York hospital two doctors discuss an emergency. One says; "the patient somehow suffers speech disorder". The other one asks him: "die he suffer a stroke?" Answer: "No, he's Texan"
But if someone of you US-FChatters master the german language. I'm sure, absolutely noone would understand me, when I talk the way we do here locally

Speaking German is getting more difficult with the years passing here in Paris, as you don't have to use it at all here; but understanding it still works rather well, even your local variant I bet...

Actually, "on our side", some people are so enamoured in playing the game of local differences that they would explain to you that, from one village to another it might be different...but if you take care and listen, yes you will understand it anywhere on the three departments 57, 67, 68 (actually, more difficult as you close to Switzerland, but still doable).
They say it hasn't changed much for the last 1500 years; well, I couldn't say for Alsace, but in the Moselle, the young kids are now really loosing it completly.
(Sorry for the out of topic matter...back to the cars!)

I just tried to insert another picture from the media gallery. It fits on the screen of my notebook, but not on my Ipad. The right side is cropped. What is the correct length/width proportion to make the pics fit on all devices?
