There is a Dino registry. But it seems like it’s been inactive for a long time

Recall they began to inventory AMG stuff in the '80's, but a few reasonably priced Ferrari on hand circa mid-late '70's (credit bannishg here for wrangling the ad) ...

Keep in mind that "Classic Motors of Hinsdale" was not affiliated with the Continental auto group. It was owned by Bob Zimmerman and Richard Buxbaum, who later would open the AMG North America store on Ogden in Westmont.

And Dave MacNeil, later of Weathertech fame, worked as salesperson. Small world.

I was at Autohaus in Northbrook back then and ordered over a dozen 500SELs to be re-done by them.
All but one car had only cosmetic AMG, really ugly spoilers and skirts, the one car that was truly special was a '84 500SEC that had $60k in engine work alone (car was in high $50s itself).

Knauz was an area Ferrari dealership circa '70's. Maybe there're some pics kicking around from there? LFSC moved into the Ford store on Western at some point w/some cool classic 'Vettes and Greenwood stuff, though don't think they had Ferrari yet?

Knauz was also an early Alfa dealer in the 1960's. AUSCA sort of started there as the mechanic originally worked at Knauz. They did win the SCCA championship with the Alfa 1600 GTA.
They have a museum that used to have an AUSCA Duetto in it. I think that was moved as the cars owner Larry Ogle took it out. The museum had a Dino 246 also that I think was sold originally by Knauz new.

Circa 1986/7 I was at Continental with my dad and there was this guy with long black frizzy hair dressed in all black golf clothing. He was talking with one of the mechanics and I couldn’t stop looking at him. I knew he looked familiar but I couldn’t place him. As he was leaving someone said, “See you next week Alice.” Yup, Alice Cooper. He had a Corniche that was being serviced. Any chance someone has a picture of him at Continental?

Actually it’s somewhat remarkable that before cell phone cameras and selfies we never really thought to take pictures of ourselves at work or where we worked. We where there every day. We knew what the place and each other looked like.

Not to worry, all the photos we take on our cell phones will be gone in 35 years anyway. Atleast back in the old days you put used film in a box and stored in the closet.

The legendary former Parts Manager Randy Rodgers would literally go play pin-ball with Alice Cooper in the 80's when Alice would bring his Rolls Royce or Maserati in for service. Also, Frank Thomas (of Chicago White Sox fame) and Randy would compare compound bows when Frank would bring his Bentley in; Thomas would keep three-four bows in his trunk! Both Thomas and Cooper couldn't of been more normal people when they came to the dealership, just regular "joe's" who made millions!
