Yummy. Last night was samosa night. Used this puff pastry dough. Image Unavailable, Please Login This recipe for inspiration: http://wewalka.us/recipes/samosas Image Unavailable, Please Login Browned ground beef. Mixed w/ jalfrezi sauce (Kroger). Threw a few frozen peas on top. Image Unavailable, Please Login My folding and crimping skills are lame. My grandma would be so embarrassed. This would be the best looking of the lot. Made a dozen of them. Image Unavailable, Please Login In the oven. Image Unavailable, Please Login After cooking @ 425 F for ~ 30 mins. Made a yogurt/cucumber/mint dipping sauce. I would have preferred to use a spicier simmer sauce than jalfrezi, but the missus shot down that idea. Nonetheless, they were good with a few drops of Tabasco scorpion, then dipped in to the sauce to cool things off. The dough was easy to work with. Another quality product from Wewalka...T
I forget the salt was brought from France I’ll have to ask my friend. Sauce is Urotrash’s recipe which is delicious: 1 can San marzano tomatoes 1/2 stick butter One onion cut in 1/2 Simmer for an hour mushing the tomatoes up. Pull out the onion pieces and the sauce is to die for! Sometimes we leave and purée the onion in for a change. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Tom that first pic the meat looks like Texas with peas on it! Lol Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Thanks. Taste was good one I added some hot sauce. Only a couple had a filling explosion. Tonight, it's leftover chili. And, cornbread! Image Unavailable, Please Login I don't know if it's a Southern thing, but it is the first place I ran into sweet cornbread. Mother in law used to love it that way. So, I add a tsp of sugar to the box mix. Tasty! T
Still enjoying it. Had the root veggie theme going on, and they were red beets, but the pigment sort of cooked away, I guess. The light pink pieces are them. They were golden beets in the last batch with the lighter color stock, chicken, potatoes, and carrots. And there were multi colored carrots in the most recent batch, as well....some purple, some yellow, and orange.
Just a salad Love a good Caesar Image Unavailable, Please Login Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Yes sir. The ladies first attempt. Her cooking has been a rare occasion lately but it’s good to know she’s capable... I try not to take pictures of my food at restaurants but this one was from a stop at California pizza kitchen last week. Buffalo cauliflower and a veggie pizza with goat cheese and truffle oil. The waiter misheard and we didn’t get the cauliflower crust but it was still pretty damn good. The owner saw the waiter/bartender apologizing to us profusely (which wasn’t really necessary as I could care less and actually wanted the bread ), came over and introduced himself. Great guy and possibly one of the best chain restaurants I’ve ever been in. Image Unavailable, Please Login Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I'm still in Eastern Washington. So its been Panda Express, Olive Garden and Applebee's for dinner. Stayed an extra night because it started snowing yesterday. I'll head home this afternoon. Plan to stop at the sushi bar I found off the freeway.
I made a Caesar tonight. It was mediocre. I didn’t get a good enough sear on the scallops either. The rissoto took up most of my time... Image Unavailable, Please Login Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I've been a CPK fan since they had only a couple of stores in the LA area (gotta be 30 years now). They recently took one of my fav foods - the "Tortilla Spring rolls" - off of the menu. I'm thinking of boycotting until its returned! We had that cauliflower app the other day for the first time - yummy. I think of myself as a "never chain" person, but then realized from your post I guess I have an exception to that (and the fast food places of course).
We went to dim sum again for lunch and its in a large mall of exclusively Asian stores. So there is a giant Chinese market inside...they have restaurant quantity of lots of stuff and an amazing assortment of interesting/rare veggies. That store is a foodie wonderland... Anyways, I bought 4 kinds of mushrooms and roasted them in the oven with thyme, butter, garlic, evoo and s&p. Served them with a (very disappointing) prime grade ribeye and a twice baked potato. My portion in the first pic, then the little ladies. Oh, and Ania made a "tester" pumpkin pie in anticipation of making one for her first ever thanksgiving at my mom's house later this month. Served with homemade whipped cream (I gotta admit, I was a child in the 70s and my mom was trained to serve us pre-made crap like cool whip or readiwhip rather than make the real stuff...so I only discovered actual whipped cream late in life...lordy its good) Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Great meals everyone! I'm traveling, so living vicariously through y'all. Pumpkin pie and fresh whipped cream. T
They have a few there. Large Hispanic population because the biggest industry is agriculture. Had my Dad with me and he mostly wanted soup and salads.
