Unfortunately no the Pantera is a 'clock' customer, but I have a friend that owns one here in Savannah and I'm working on this instruments as well. http://www.michaelspantera.com/clocks.html That is me in the pic... and if you click the 'photos' button you'll see his Pantera. Nick
That's an '82 Spider, not '92?? The clock with the blue hands actually fits my 308GTB, the Dino clock has plain white hands..I know it's never absolute, with Ferraris. Great pics!!!
Hello, I have a Veglia quarzo with the resistor which is first in the circuit from the 12v input blackened to the point that i can't read its value, does anybody know what value this resistor should be, I'm geussing it has failed or changed value due to looking like it being burned out, but does still have a resistance of about 38ohm. Not sure if this is why my clock is not working.
How are you guys getting to the clock in the 1980 and newer 308's? It sounds like people are taking the entire center consul out? Can't the little panel holding the oil temp and clock be removed after taking out the two screws on its face? I ask this because I tried, and failed. I removed the two screws and that little panel doesn't budge! Took out ash tray to get my fingers under the little panel, but still no movement, and I'm pushing hard. My goal is to make a voltmeter out of a spare 308 oil temp gauge to replace the clock. Who needs a clock? What a worthless instrument. Now a voltmeter is something a 308 could really use.
Chris, There are two metal tabs at the front end and a velcro fastener at the rear of the small gauge panel. I'll post a picture shortly. Jim
Just noticed that you have an 83 not an 80 as stated in post. That will be a bit different. Here is a picture of the back of my 1980 clock panel for reference. Image Unavailable, Please Login
no...and yes ... can be really sticky like glue but should come out (just swapped my gauges from US to EURO) . Image Unavailable, Please Login
I can check Matt. Operating from memory here...were the screw phillips oval head with a Sems flush washer? Here is a link... http://www.clipsandfasteners.com/8_X_11_16_Phillips_Oval_6_Head_Sems_Flush_p/a10653.htm Might be smaller. I'll check some boxes of spares and see what I can find. Jim
Are you talking about the small black phillips head screews that hold in the leather clock/oil pressure gauge panel? I looked around in my boxes of interior parts and found the small screws below. Not sure if they are the correct size but you are welcome to them if you think they might work. Heads are 5.4mm across, length is 23mm. Took a picture with clock for scale. "can be really sticky like glue but should come out (just swapped my gauges from US to EURO)" OK Michael, I'll pull on the panel harder. What is the material used, in case I have to replace it? I see it's aluminum on Jim's 1980. Is it aluminum or fiberglass on 81+?
I don`t remember, probably alu, but you cannot break it either way... if you already have the ashtray and the gate out (what should not be neccessary), you can also reach in there and try to push it from behind
My "81 NA, it is relatively thin metal rapped in leather. It can stand a little pull. The leather layers likely just "boned over time and with a little leather cleaner down in the joints of the parts that turned to glue.
I've had the ashtray and gate out, but thought I'd break something. Maybe I'll try to wet the seam with water for a few minutes and give it a try.
I'm working on building myself a replica of the 308's clock for my project 37313 resurrection, using a Veglia clock taken from a Fiat 124. The clock is identical in size, and the setting screw seems to be identical as well; maybe you could purchase a used one from eBay (they sell for around 6 bucks + shipping), take it apart and see if the internals match the 308's... Just my 2 cents...
Fogging is found on any clock that has a stem coming through it. It needs a hole in it for the stem and Veglia decided to use plastic instead of glass. The plastic fogs over time from cleaning solvents used and fine scratches from using dirty rags to clean it. If your face is clear only use optical plastic lens cleaner and a clean soft cloth. If there is gritty material on the face remove that first with gentle dabbing with a damp cloth. Don’t wipe or it will scratch the soft plastic. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
By the way there is an alternative fix. Replace the plastic crystal with glass. Available from Unobtaniumsupply. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
All this was covered in “308 glass” thread. Check post #31 Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
