Nice car, congrats! You can't go wrong with silver on any Ferrari.

Thank you! Love the way the Grigio shows the lines. Also like that the grey kind of blends into traffic unlike some of the other colors that really yell look at me.

The only serious problem with driving it from Jersey to California is putting a lot of miles on the car that will show up if and when you try to sell it. AND if the car breaks down in the middle of Nebraska at 9 pm, you're going to have a pickle of a time finding anyone that can competently repair it. Will mean a very expensive tow to the nearest Ferrari mechanic and waiting a while for parts, etc. It isn't worth the risk to drive it.

Oh yes, and yes and yes! I’m driving a 15 year old Italian V8 3k miles, what could go wrong? This would be very easy choice in my 911, which is basically bullet proof. But this is the romance of buying a car and driving it home and everything that can go wrong on the way.

Man I hate that drive— like that airplane saying about ten seconds of excitement.

Shipping for me but being a GT is a plus.

This is wise. I shipped my 360 and was very glad I did. Tires had great tread, but they were seven years old and hard as those on Fred Flintstone's ride.

The trip started by picking up the car in Jersey. Was very early in the morning and the owner who has done a exemplary job of curating this car, picked me up at the airport and went to get the car. Obviously you should never pick a car up at night, I trusted the owner and had no issues about it. Great experience!

Taz, the only Ferrari - or any car for that matter - that I ever picked up and drove home was a 400i Automatic that I bought from FAF in Atlanta. In those days, I found the automatic so disappointing that I sold it to the friend who had flown down and driven back to NYC with me.

Now, as an everyday car for an 87 year auld phart, a 412 automatic is very pleasant indeed! And I've got the 575M for excitement.

Seth- That automatic was really ill matched to the torque curve of the V12.

550- Knew you would have a ball and we should have warned you about the Firestones.

Car ran strong with no issues at all. I could tell it liked being driven hard and long distance. Very comfortable and impressed.

So after a few canyon runs I noticed a few things: 1. Brakes squeal. 2. There’s an annoying vibration coming from the drivers door. 3. Stock exhaust is too quiet.
