I'm doing a rebuild of the front suspension and am struggling to get the nuts off the anti roll bar clamps. They loosen a bit, then the bolt/stud starts to turn.

Are they studs or bolts, and if bolts, how/where do you get to the other side as I just can not find a way!

    Much appreciated some help.

    Cheers

Thanks; didn’t think to search for sway bar.

I have no idea how they are retained; but they are rotating. Fortunately I’ve managed to do them back up. Crap piece of design by Ferrari!

I’m tempted to chicken out in these, but that does feel like going against the grain!

They're called Cage Bolts, the clip part pops into the square opening of the frame. Sometimes, if the clip pops out because the nut/bolt is too corroded, that's when it just spins... you may need to cut it off.

I ordered all new hardware except those cage bolts 14672491.
Anyone know what size the cage bolts are so I can order them I am getting all the parts up front.
I am doing same thing whole front end, bushings, rack, ball joints, sway bar everything. I'll post rack internal busing dimensions I made one from Delrin measuring a damaged rack from ebay.

Ive just ordered them from Ferrari. Seems they had a few orders for them. They are applicable to 348 and 355.

Hopefully they will turn up this week. I’ll confirm when they do and take some pics.

Looking forward to seeing them. And good to know for the rest of us. In other words, liberally soak these sway bar clamp bolts/nuts with your favorite penetrating oil before trying to remove them. In my experience, spinning nutplates were the biggest pain in the ... when working on F-15s. Work stoppage too.

Where did you order them from please? They don’t have in the uk. They are not square headed bolts, they are rectangular.

They aren’t like that they are rectangular, the sprung clip wouldn’t be strong enough to hold the bolt. The clip is designed to stop the bolt turning only.

I ordered them from Ferrariparts / Maranello Classic Parts today. (Tis where I get all my new OEM parts. Far far better than the other two main ones selling OEM parts.) Guy said, they had a pile on order, and I said add them to my order if they are available which he did, so I'm assuming they are available.

Fingers crossed as I'd like to replace them.

I'll give an update when I get the order; suspect Wed/Thurs.

Yes, the pic I posted is just a generic cage bolt and cage nut. It'll be interesting to see close-ups of the real deal.

Yep I order them them from Ricambi, they showed available, then I got a notice of credit and are unavailable and it now shows unavailable. I'll we watching and will need the length and pitch, McMaster Carr most likely has them, but need to know the spec's.

Ok, somehow Ferrari Parts delivered my parts inside a day of paying! Don't know how they do it.

These little caged bolts are on back order. They know what they are as we discussed them over the phone and they have a picture of them. They have them on order with the manufacturer of the bolt. They were not sure when they would arrive but are chasing.

So not end of the story, just have to wait a little longer. Apparently they have two sets on order, so if anybody else is interested give them a shout.

Again, I'll update as and when.

I have ordered from them already, waiting to hear when the stock arrives, hopefully not long as I don’t want another car in bits for ages!
