Throughout its history, Ferrari has enjoyed a strong record of success in GT racing through both factory entries and privateer racing teams. At the introduction of the 360 Modena in 1999, it was clear that this car was a quantum leap in performance over the outgoing F355. A number of teams expressed interest in taking the 360 Modena racing.

With factory support, three race cars were built for JMB Racing and the 2000 FIA GT season. When the team won the FIA N-GT driver’s and team championship in 2001, Ferrari decided to offer a full competition-variant of the 360 Modena to racing teams. Produced in conjunction with Michelotto, the 360 GT was specifically engineered to compete in the FIA’s N-GT and A.C.O. Championship series for the 2002 and 2003 seasons. Only 20 cars were produced, numbered in an even-number range from chassis no. 2002 to 2040.

Of those 20 cars, three were delivered to the Houston-based race team, Risi Competizione, and chassis no. 2022 was the second example they received. Arriving in early 2003, the car’s first event was the 12 Hours of Sebring that year. Driven by Marino Franchetti and Kevin McGarrity, the car qualified 36th on the grid. Making it through 243 laps of the race, it was eventually sidelined after an accident. To complete repairs, the car was returned to Italy to be rebuilt.

Returning to North America in 2004, the 360 GT was sold to Remo Ferri of Ferrari of Ontario and subsequently Dan Heard of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, in 2005. In Heard’s ownership, the car made two trips to the track in 2006 and 2007 but remained mostly in storage during this time. A major service that included new cam belts was completed in April 2012, and it was sold to Bruce Banyo in 2012. Banyo showed the car at the Cavallino Classic in 2014, winning a Silver award, and the car was sold to the current owner this year. In his care, chassis no. 2022 was shown at the Classiche Concorso d’Eleganza at Daytona Raceway as part of the Ferrari Finali Mondiali in 2016.

An exciting piece of modern motorsport, this rare 360 GT would surely provide loads of thrills on the track.

    I don’t see how it could go higher - I would be shocked if it even hits the low estimate. A few comps I have found recently are as follows;

2040 - the auto palace car - was on offer for atleast a year, maybe longer, with a 275k usd ask - now listed as sold - don’t know if car actually sold and for how much

2028 - Heinz only u know what your car actually sold for last year, but last ask I saw on the car was 220k EUR

2030 is currently for sale on this site with an ask of 239k usd and jncludes a spare transmission

2024 - sold at barrel Jackson for 132k usd - a steal - car was resold about 6 months later for slightly above 200 usd - will not say exactly out of respect for new owner who is on fchat

2010 sold last year with ask of 275k EUR - don’t know exact price it sold for though

2006 sold last year with ask of 375 usd — THIS CAR IS THE EXCEPTION though given its superior race history

N-GT 004 M just sold a couple of months ago and was advertised on this site for ask of 275 USD and included a spare engine and trans

N-GT 007 M sold a couple of years ago with an ask of 275 USD - but this was a JMB car, which I would value higher given history, etc

So after looking at all recent comps I would think 200 to 250 USD for 2022 at the RM sale.

Of course, that is simply looking at and valueing on a comp basis. Does the new Club Competizione Program just announced by Ferrari add any value due to jncreased demand for end users needing a car to participate in this new program? (Or do prospective participants just go look for a 430 GT3 at half the price!) May be to early to tell at this point. As for race history, 2022 is a Risi car but only one significant race - so not much history.

    Yup!
    Many 360GT’s for sale
    2022 only ONE race
Same story for other Michelotto GT’s wich are converted challenge cars (348/355/360 etc) with no real BIG racing history (Le Mans, Sebring, Daytona or a oa winner of a championship)

Keep in mind that a 360NGT was half the price 10 years ago. The bubble is due to.....

Ciao hello. Some direct words to the 360 Michelotto Cars. This cars are hype unique, handmade, very spcial. Some of them have really big History, 24H LeMans, 24 H Daytoan, Sebing etc, and here in Europe the FIA GT, what was THE racing series back in the time.

A good service at Michelotto costs you a good 355 or another used Ferrari. They are no normal, built up Challenge cars, this it total different. Extremly low production numbers in all 3 generations. Never works cars, thats true, but back in time there was no Ferrari works programm, it starts with the 430 GTs.

With the now Programm from Ferrari the "Club Competitzioni GT" the cars will get a big push and will be close there where they should be.

I know many cars they have been sold the last weeks (!) in the area of EUR 400 and more. BUT, really big history, best condition etc.!

This it the truth, believe it or not ;-)

    Forza Michelotto

Which 360GT s/n’s have been sold for 400k you mention?
The ones in the USA asking 240-250k USD (210-215k EUR)
So that is about HALF the 400k EUR!

If a well known 360GTC sold for 250k euro, why pay 400k euro?

What is the difference in running costs of a 360 GT (or NGT) vs a 458 Challenge car?

If one does 6 track week end days a year for example (2k miles)?

I would imagine the running costs would be substantially higher for the GT versus the 458 Challenge, given the Michelotto involvement - both with drivetrain modifications but it also can't be cheap to replace body panels that were developed by Michelotto. I think three are so many 458 challenges that if you do have some form of crash damage, it would be much cheaper -- and the motor is no different than the street car, unlike the 360 GT

just replace the engine by a standard 360 (or 360 CS) engine and save the original one and you are fine.gearbox and driveshafts need to get an eye from time to time. the 458 Challenge - if you run with the CCM Brakes - costs you a fortune on brakes, you can replace them with proper steel brakes which the 360 already has. why not get your hands on a 458 GT3? best Ferrari trackday car, very reliable and not expensive to run. if you do 2K per year you can use it for 5 years before you need to touch anything...
