I've known Paul years...he'll come back if that's what he wants to do. I just wish he'd put out a few more cars!!

I have just got the following information from a model car dealer in Europe: "MFH announce that the license contract with Ferrari will be terminated by the end of December 2018" - has someone more informations?

I'm not surprised by this. I figured that the license with Ferrari had to be for a limited time, and that was why they have been working at such a fast pace to release so many Ferrari kits before the time was up on the license. And.....said license cost MFH a lot, so they also needed to maximize financial return to cover and justify the expense.

Yes that is true. But that is not to say they won't get it again at a later date like they did with 1/20th and 1/24th after dropping for a few years.

Ultimately, WE pay the license fees. Their job to maximize their return doesn't change whether they pay license fees or not.

Well yes and no. That may be one way to look at it, but it really is not that simple. I do have a good amount of experience with this, and have seen, discussed, and been privy to all sides of the Lic. fees. (CMA Models, Inc.) The License fees are high (especially Ferrari), and even with producing so many kits, not all of them are necessarily good sellers (sell in high enough volume) to have been worth the time, effort, and expense to produce (this includes the Lic. fees). MFH keep all of their kits in the same price range, not adjusting any to compensate for losses on others, etc.

It's a really sad news about this Ferrari license, but still a lot of other cars to do for MFH.
We will probably see the last Ferrari in december, I hope for a 250 GT SWB Competizione, but with Borrani wheels there a bunch of them that MFH has not done yet...

Looking at the Hiro wire wheel and the Dunlop tires, if they are correct would suggest a sports race car from 1963 to 1965. So no road cars other than a race GT such as a LMB or 275 GTB/C.
My guess is either a 250/275 P, 275 GTB/C or 330 LMB. That' all thats really left that fit that tire/wheel as it can't be an F1 car. They only list one car option so 275GTB/C #6685 is the most likely

    Well I hope it's the 275 GTB/C, but I would also be happy with a 330 LMB.....guess we'll know soon enough.

The F1 car from Hiro is the Lotus 49 in 1/12th scale. The Ferrari has not been announced yet but I think it way be several cars. They showed a Daytona oil pan and a mid 1960's racing Ferrari wire wheel. They also show 3 options now, so maybe 3 Ferrari's in 1/12th scale coming for December??

3 different versions of the Daytona or 3 different models? Maybe for the last Ferrari(s) from MFH, we may have 3 different cars :D

Here is the Profil 24 1/12th Porsche 2018 911 RSR Lemans. I cannot build another 911 derived car. Atleast other than all being red the Ferrari's look different :)

I'll buy one of these MFH Daytona Spyder kits, and I do see your point. Given that MFH produced so many comp Ferrari's, a GR4 Daytona would have made more sense, and many versions could have been offered. Missed opportunity?

Same thoughts on the Daytona....Nice, but I'm not really interested in a large-scale street version. Maybe the license allows them to do just the one, last car, but several versions?? I'd probably buy two or three if they did a Competizione......

I would also buy a comp Daytona kit if they made one. I've always had a thing for the Daytona Spyder, so it is a must for me.
