As far as I understand this is the car (big brother) that will be unveiled in Geneva. This car is hybrid so it’s a completely new chassis Image Unavailable, Please Login
I really hope this new car is pretty and not just fast and expensive. The design house needs a win IMO. Please don't be a mix of existing elements. I really do like the Pista changes but a new chassis allows for full expression. BTW that shark fin is enormous looking. I wonder why they are so much larger than previous.
This is pure speculation that to me seems way off. Expecting a V6 car to replace a V8 car when all its direct competitors don't follow that route is a bit far fetched.
It’s not pure speculation. It’s based off of what I have heard directly from dealers and what I read from Ferrari’s announcements. It would be nice if life where always simple however...
Anyone kind enough to give me any links to some of those spotters who take pictures around Maranello?
Lot of V6 variants have been/are being tested combined with single turbo, twin turbo and hybrids. But in 2019 we will only see the number 8 twice and the number 12 once.
So the 12 is the 812 spider and one of the 8's is a V8TT Hybrid and the other 8 is a Portofino coupe ??
Exactly. Keep in mind Ferrari does make V6 engines, which are then used in other brands. This is again where the updated V6 power-train will land.
Taking your previous posts into consideration, I'm guessing the two mid engined cars are the number 8. And 812 Aperta is the 12.
I really hope you are correct as I have a $30 Wagyu Burger bet on this with my dealer And I have already have an EOI signed for the car
Sorry but Ferrari said in the five years plan there will be a new innovative V6 but NEVER previewed a rear mid engine V6 . The new modular chassis concept is able to create V6 , V8 and V12 rear mid engine car .
So there will be a new platform and a new V6, and they won't go downmarket. It's then only logical to assume the V6 will be introduced for the replacement of the "entry" model - which is currently the 488 as far as the Sport range is concerned. Some years ago BMW just did a similar move, replacing the 6 cylinder engines by 4 cylinder ones; the technology allows this money saving without impacting the performance. Introducing first the more expensive upmarket V8 will help positioning the V6 as entry level later on.
No. The future V6 (design 100% Ferrari) is totally unrelated to the current Pentastar-derived V6 for Maserati. And is not intended to replace it. Inviato dal mio BAH-L09 utilizzando Tapatalk
The current V6 is far from just a Pentastar. The Maserati engine utilises the Pentastar's block, but the pistons, conrods and valvetrain are a of Ferrari-Maserati design. I agree that the new Ferrari V6 will be totally different though.
I’m not sure what your saying. It sounds like you’re saying there will be a rear mid V6 and also saying there won’t be. There will be a rear mid V6 as well as a another V6.
Wha According to Ferrari , the new V6 will be very innovative , But I don't believe this engine will end in a rear mid engine .
You are incorrect. The new V6 will be in a rear engine car. And a front engine car. This was established many pages back in this thread.
No, the previous pages tell, if you'd bother to read them. You are spreading misinformation. The new modular platform will support both V6 and V8 engines, in front and in back, and hybrids. Why do you dispute facts? It's ridiculous.
First , don't be agressive we are just talking about fun topics ( Ferrari future cars ), I believe you are just confusing rumors and established facts . With the new modular chassis concept , Ferrari could create V6 , V8 or V12 rear mid engine car but I strongly believe they will only sell two different versions of V8TT mid engined car at first because it makes sense if you want to be competitive against mclaren or Lamborghini. A V6 rear mid engine car is a nonsense to me . Maybe I'm wrong , we will see sooner than later .
There is a future roadmap - a document released by Ferrari - linked to earlier in this thread that proves I'm right. You are simply wrong. That is a fact. I'm not picking on you, I'm just tired of this thread being muddied up. I predict you will love the nonsense mid V6 that directly replaces the 488.
