Is it alright to wear Ferrari swag?

I think that analogy is a bit off. I see it more like an accountant that met the goals of their personal plan, and not being to concerned if others say the accountants personal resulting balance sheet should be 'higher' or even 'lower.'

He's focused on meeting the goal he set out for himself, whatever that is.

 

I own a subtle (enzos signature) hat that I do not put on when driving the car per the WSJ, (not a admonishment to those that do)...caveat for me is unless it's a Ferrari event.

I wear an F1 shirt to F1 viewing parties.

That's it.

I know of folks that look like that Peter in that clip above (great clip btw) almost all the time. My personal view is it's overboard, but hey it's not me wearing it so what does it matter to me? I'm just happy for them.

I'm of the mindset do what makes *you* happy, and as long as it doesn't hurt or affect others negatively...well haters always gonna hate, caring too much about what others think about silly things like your shirt is a recipe for a lifetime of anxiety.

 

I tend only wear a racing team hat from time to time. My son, well...

I liked it the best of what I saw was available. It's not really even commonly available it has to be searched out. I'm pretty happy with it so far.

I was doing the groceries at Walmart and wearing one of my typical Ferrari polo shirts. Some smartass comes up to me and says...."you own a Ferrari? ...didn't see one in the parking lot "

Me: oh, I drove my other car.

Smartass: oh, what car is that?

I have 2 shirts, both have small logos, and 2 hats, one I bought and one that was a gift. I don’t double up, seems gaudy, but I don’t give it much thought beyond that.

 

I seem to buy attire with trademarks of whatever cars I own well mostly. I have a Mercedes T my fiancee bought me which I haven't worn yet. They being the Scuderia nemesis I can't bring myself to wear it.
I have Alfa wear, Ferrari wear and recently BMW. I have the odd Ford related thing too. I no longer own an Alfa. My thought is I cannot wear the same attire branded clothing at the same time as driving the car of that brand. It's just a thing.

 

But and wear what ever you like and makes you happy.

It always reminds me of seeing bands come out on stage, wearing their own band's shirt. Lol

 

I have a black hat and hoodie with the Cavallino crest. I wear them both, but separately.

I'm also a guitar player. I guess I never thought of it as different than the hats and sweatshirts I have of the guitar gear I use. Does that make me a ****** as well?

I also have a sweatshirt with the logo of my favorite Rugby team. Is that OK?

Where is the line, really? No more polo branded attire because you are promoting the logo and company? Just plain clothing from now on?

I guess I just don't get it.

A hat is fine, shoes are fine, a watch is fine, but those jackets are hideous IMHO. Plus wearing Ferrari everything comes across as kind of douchey.

if you are the couple that was at Greddy meet today in your California. Both of you wearing matching Ferrari hat, Ferrari shirt and jacket. guy was also wearing a Ferrari shoe.

Have Ferrari hat/polo/shoes. Mostly wear separately with other fun stuff like Star Wars, Marvel, Alpinestar, etc.

But I also have Saleen, Corvette, Maserati, Porsche, Mercedes, Lamborghini apparel. I wear what I wear when I feel like it. Who cares what others think.

Btw, if you have a Fendi wallet, or Gucci shoes, or Ralph Lauren polo, or Nike jacket, do you own part of that company? That to me, is even worse than wearing a team sport or car company apparel.

I wear a faded, worn Ferrari polo shirt and/or hat when I head to the pick-n-pull junk yard at times.

 

As some others have said, I really don't care too much about what others think of my clothes, I wear what I like.

I have two T shirts and two hats, all gifts. I usually only wear them when I drive my Ferrari. One of the shirts doesn't get worn anymore as it is the one celebrating Kimi's championship year which he signed for me at the Ferrai Mondiali in Daytona.

 

I was once getting a haircut and I was seated in the waiting area wearing my red Ferrari hat when this guy comes over and asks me "Do you own a Ferrari?"
I reply "Yes I do". He repeats with a quizzical look on his face "You OWN a Ferrari?"
"Yeah I do. It's parked outside." Pulling the key and holding it up showing him...

"Well.. umm (stammering).. people often wear car clothes and they don't own the car..." and walks out of the barber shop.

Expected to call me out and got called out instead. I told my wife about it and she laughed out loud...

 

Sounds like a jerk, if i saw anybody with brand x car hat, I don't ask if they 'own' it, I simply assume they are a fellow motor enthusiast like me. Say if it was a Porsche hat, I would say 'I'm a big fan of Porsche too, what so you think of the new 911?'

Its irrelevant if they own it! I can only assume he was trying to remind you of what he 'assumed' you don't have? Sort if like going to a actor and asking them how many Oscars they won, when you know they won none just to put salt in the wound.

Besides...what about the fans of sports? People love their college teams end though they did not go to that school; people or pro sports though they would not know how to wear all that protective gear...what about formula one fans then?

I don't think many people wear NFL jerseys, hoping that other people believe they are an NFL Quarterback.

Related random thought: Note how many musicians (in bands) you see wearing "band" t-shirts on stage... also note that it's rarely the band they are actually in. Wearing your own shirt is a bit of a taboo.
