only thing i dont like is the black grill. reminds me of a bottom dwelling fish. and a 458 too!

im sure its an easy fix with some vinyl or spray paint in the middle of it.

Knowing Porsche you can probably get that black grill painted in the body color like an old special edition Porsche 996!

Like I have said before, I drove my first 911 48 years ago, and they stopped building the ones I liked a long time ago, so I would just take them apart and make them the way I wanted them. I am getting too old for that these days, so I will do a few things to this new one, but I will leave it AWD (a first for me). Outside of a few versions of the 911, it is no longer a sports car and if they do stop building the Boxster/Cayman well in my mind Porsche will no longer be a sports car company. The Cayman is by far the best sports car they make, I have been tempted more than once to buy one and take it apart and turn it into what it really could be. Who knows maybe I still will. I would call it the Cayman HS (for Holy S...t)

I love the new 992 interiors except maybe the gear shifter. And I'm excited to see how the 992 GT3 will be like.

Except for the GT3 and GT3 RS, all 911s are now turbo, since the 2017 991.

Your almost correct, just 4 years too early!

One thing that I think Ferrari may have one-upped 911s on is the interior. More purposeful, less cluttered than the 991 and 992. I just don't like the bulky center console on the newer 911s. It looks like it belongs on a minivan or SUV, not a 911...T

I think it will look incredible in person. I like that they did a square hood, throwback to the 993. The back looks very high and big in the pictures. I think in person that will change and look very good. I think the front needs two painted slats down rather than be completely open.

I am sure a painted grill is an option, it was on my wife's Cayenne when we ordered it. Most dealer cars do not select painted grill work so you have to spec it.

The strength of the 911 is how diverse the product range is. Ferrari doesn’t even offer a manual gearbox! Porsche is better at listening to the enthusiast even if it creates CUV’s, Electric etc. I believe it will continue to do that while broadening it’s range of products. It also is better at supporting its older models. Porsche has a few gear heads working there!

Porsche will say they have simply raised the floor of the product line, and that’s true. But it’s also true this generation of 911 is about cashing in on the legend.

Another dynamic is electrification. Porsche has said by 2025 half its product line will be hybridized or fully electric. With a seven-year lifespan typical, this 911 finds itself somewhat between regimes, and that accounts for what seems a modest generational evolution.

This 911 has been pre-wired, so to speak, for its eventual hybridization. And while the coming hybrid versions are certain to be more powerful, the future-proofing has added weight to the new, non-hybrid product: 163 pounds, compared with the previous car. Much of that mass belongs to the hybrid-ready eight-speed transmission (replacing the 7-speed PDK), as well as upgraded electric harnesses and structural support for batteries yet-to-come. This is the first 911 with an electric brake booster, as opposed to hydraulic.

The contest between new and old manifests inside as well. The interior brings back the Bauhaus-inspired dash design of air-cooled 911s as a heritage cue. But sandwiched between the upper and lower dash is a 10.9-inch infotainment touch screen. And what was once unthinkable in a 911 is now unremarkable: a cupholder in the center console. Since there is no more hand shifting, the real estate at the driver’s right elbow was freed up.

I will agree with the Lotus as more sports car but not the Corvette. The Corvette is pretty much the same GT type as the Porsche 991 & 992.
