My speedmeter conked out and was not functioning. 1) I opened the speedometer an changed transistor BDB02A (which was burned and smelling). 2) just to be on the safe side, changed the 2 IC's HCF4024BE and 62693. When I turned on the ignition and the speedo kicks up to almost 200mph and stays there and the trip odometer is turning fast taking the reading of the speed. Can any body help me out here? 1) If the speed sensor is broken, would this be happening? 2) If I used the car in its present state, would I get a check engine light? Help!!!
PM me if you need a used speedo for a 348. I have one with 2000 kms on it. has been dry stored since being taken off the car 8 yrs ago
Can anyone tell me where I might be able to source the microchip 62693? Ideally, but nor necessarily, in the UK.
That was a typing error, the chip is 92693. Seems available only from Chinese online sellers. I was able to buy a few straight away (Aliexpress, I think) but now they ask that you send inquiry (you cannot just add to basket and pay). You can try this one: https://www.jotrin.com/product/parts/92693
Try contacting ///Mike. He has, or had, "kits" left over from when he repaired his speedo. Unfortunately, Mike hasn't been here since July 19th. But hopefully he'll respond to a PM.
