The OEM rocker rocker switch runs through the ECU. If any of the micro switches, seat pots or the ECU itself are faulty, the top does not move.

This rocker switch makes the top go up or down regardless of the status of any of those inputs.

    Is it right? NOPE.
    Does it work? YUP.

Pulling the same wires to the OEM top switch will work, but returning is more complicated and I did not want the confusion. After three years, I may just do that.

That's my plan, it is just a 3 terminal rocket with 2 additional terminals for the light

Switch not rocket. Autocorrect. Hoping to do this in the week coming up, I will post pics when I do

I want a rocket switch!!! THAT would be fantastic.

Seriously, this is a pretty easy fix as long as the pump is good and the fuses intact.
The rocker switch is a couple of bucks.

I like your original approach. I'm 6' 2" 200 lbs and sitting in the car as the ECU runs the seats forward is akin to being in a trash compactor. It is unnecessary for this thing to be as complex as it is. I also like the switch you used....it is very discreet. I'll leave the original wiring and switch in place because the next owner might be a purist.:)

I haven't pulled the bypass switch out yet......do you recall how you wired the remote switch (what colors went where)?

    Thanks.

Yes, the seat movement is pretty aggressive.

I do not recall the wire colors off the emergency switch.
It is not hard to figure out though.
Pull the switch. There are two microswitches sandwiched together. One for up, one for down.
I want to say they were blue wires with a black ground....but it has been a few years.
I'll see if I can pull it part and look during the week.

Thanks....no rush....I just ordered the same switch: MPN 30-16360. It will show up in a week or so.

Looks relatively simple, especially if you can find connector plugs which match the originals (then the wiring can be added without cutting the original wiring). It may be tricky to get the switch to illuminate, however.
