Prior to my rebuild/modification the engine had its last gasp of breath in Newman’s driveway at 100,000 Miles. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Add about 2500 - 3000 miles to this number. My sending unit was replaced twice in the past 34 years Image Unavailable, Please Login
Image Unavailable, Please Login Yeh it’s connected , that’s the point it’s easy to unplug it between visits to any place where the odometer recorded on headed note paper , stuff like invoices etc . Suppose thinking aloud the inspector Clouseau numbers to look @ are the tyre date stamps and marry those up to the mileage . Assuming the seller tears up the tyre bill . Ie a little used car should have old / aged tyres . Of course the guy may say they started to crack or I change them every [ insert your time scale ] years and -“ I just put a new set on “. But I would prefer to see original ( ok I get the safety argument) tyres that are waaaaaay out of date like the pic 2003 . Cars done 5000 km since they were fitted so the tyres fit the claimed mileage on the odometer . This problem has vanished with modern Ferrari’s as the ECU (s) store the mileage + loadsa other stuff .If it’s known to the Franchised dealer network they use telematics to download the ECU (s) every time it’s serviced with Marenello .So if the odometer and ECU have any discrepancies it’s easy to discover .
I have 98,417 on mine. Work has been kaboshing my taking the girl for rides. She needs to get out more.
Tommy, did you revamp your odometer to read six digits? Mine only reads to five digits plus tenths. Incidentally, I've determined my odometer reads about 4% high, so my car probably has more like 103,000 miles on it rather than 108,000.
No. That's factory. Sometime in the QV series they upped it to 6 digits. They may have done it with all the QVs. I'm not sure.
I have no reason to believe my odometer isn't correct...and I'm not especially concerned if it isn't.
My '85 QV reads (1)15,000 miles, from the service history records it doesn't look like the engine's had surgery.

That is a bit of an overstatement, but he does maintain it well. I know Kevin. I believe he replaced his engine with a spare Factory engine at about 110,000 miles. … he must be getting due to rebuild it.
I thought he had the interior redone, new paint and new engine (or rebuilt) I have met him once or twice over the years, I think he has a yellow 355 with a bunch of miles too if I'm not mistaken.
Great to hear. This may be the highest so far. Just to clarify, I don't care if your car was repainted, rebuilt, or reincarnated. I'm more interested in those who have refused to coddle their car in spite of purity, miles, or wear and tear to drive the wheels off. Thanks for sharing.
I purchased this 40 years ago and it has only 48,000 miles. All original except for wheel restoration (new XWXs), multiple window switch replacements and MSD ignition. I wish I could drive it more but I don't have the time. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I love this thread. When I bought mine in 2006, the 'sweet spot' was 30~35K. Today, 13 years later the 'sweet spot' is 30-35K. When is this BS gunna end? My Dad's 1915 and 1917 Model T's that run like solid gold spinning tops, have less. All I can do is laugh.
Wear and tear on a car is a thing, Ferrari or otherwise - and mileage is a value factor with nearly any used car.
THIS!!!!!!! I have been saying this for almost 40 years! Pick up an old R&T and look in the back at the classifieds - 308's had 30K-something miles on them back in 81. They still did in 87, then again in 92. Same for 98, 03, 08 etc etc. they all STILL have 30K something miles on them
As long as nothing happens to the frame, the entire rest of the car can be pretty much replaced forever ... well, a good long time, anyway. My Dad's two Model T's are more 'Original' than many crazy expensive exotics today on a 'percentage of presentation,' basis.
