??? How the heck didn't I ever see or comment on that thread? Weird world I live in. Hopefully, I can read it soon.

BUT in the mean time, Brian had bought this car? Then must be the car Tony so-called restored? Good-god, if so, there is a Nightmare Before Christmas story I could read to you all. But I won't. Years ago, Brian said he'd tell it. Kind of him to just let it go.

As a side note, you guys are AMAZING for keeping track, remembering, putting the stories together, and all that stuff. Because, I sure as heck can't. But it's a cool read when it all comes together.

You are a genius. Great logic. So any Gallardo or Huracan is much more "Lamborghini" than a 420hp Countach QV FI or the previous "385 hp" Countach variants?
    Phantastic.
May I ask you one question?
Which Countach variant is said to deliver 385hp?

not to mention the Urus which, with its 650 hp, is even more Lamborghini than a 640 hp Huracan Performante

Indeed this past year the list of would-be Countach owners has grown significantly.

They are informed and thoughtful, willing to be patient for the right Countach, looking especially for Periscopas, Lowbodies & Downdrafts.

Meanwhile I am guilty of supplying cnpapa24 with the Stratos, the Countach Downdraft, and the Miura P400.

Astute is the word I think of for him.

Connoisseur is the word I think of for you.

These certainly are the most interesting versions, in that order (my personal opinion). But any Euro spec Countach is a great car. Even FI cars are nice, if converted to Euro looks.

Well done, both by you and the astute collector.

Thanks, gentlemen, you’re too kind. While I do have pretty strict criteria of what I want in my collection, the most important is to only have cars that you love and speak to you from both a design and driving dynamics perspective.

It’s easy to understand how the Countach, Miura, and Stratos are among the highest searched for when you look at it from that perspective.

Thank you, Joe. Yes I was fortunate to have your guidance on the purchase of those three and a few more as well as your assistance on the full nut and bolt restoration of the LP400 S3 and P400. It’s been a pleasure working with you for several years now as well becoming good friends along the way. If I only I listened to your advice at all times, I would have made a lot less mistakes!

I think you are doing great as a collector, it's a process, a journey, an adventure, meanwhile Sterling & I remain at your disposal.

TBH I have no idea, not that I ever keep track of what others are doing!

I also posted this in the 25th thread. Looks like the 25th at the Mecum auction today in Florida went for $215,000 hammer/$236,500 with reserve. Market is defiantly showing softness.

Why do you say that? That’s where this should trade and toward the higher end of the estimate.

It’s always challenging to really know values but looking at Hagerty and asking price trends, the market continues to slide. Of course there are opinions to discredit value guides. They could be way off or maybe they aren’t. On the other hand, a subset of auction prices could suggest true values, which also indicate softening over the last many months. There are also a number of 25ths on the market, and while that alone doesn’t nail a number down, supply and demand is an indication. So, I guess all of these indicators. Ultimately, I’m sure you’re correct. The price for the Mecum car is what it’s currently worth, and on the high end.
