It's a perfect day for hockey fans. Caps 2 Slashville 1 right now on NHL-N. IIHF World Junior Championship tourney on all evening, featuring Canada vs. Russia at 8 PM EST. And my lousy-lately Red Wings have Florida in town at 730 pm EST. Happy New Year hockey fans!

The game was awful. There might have been ONE body check in the entire contest...we're still waiting for verification on that. Flyers rookie goalkeeper their SIXTH netminder to start this year. Flyers are pathetic; Ed Snider must be spinning in his grave.

 

Too bad about that game, but the Canada v. Russia junior game was great. Sadly, the wrong team won, though. Canada completely controlled periods 2 and 3, but ended up losing 2-1. Russia's goalie saved their asses countless times.

 

Vegas Golden Knights make history AGAIN!

First Expansion team to have 50 points by half way point in the season for their first 2 years.

Looks like visiting teams still get the Vegas flu! Vegas has lost just 3 games at home -- and one was the first game of the year.
