    Hi All,

I am having some taillights made for my car. I have always thought the factory F430 taillights were too dim. I want to have something more modern but not look aftermarket. With that said, we are going to use the factory taillights and integrate the look of the Ferrari 458 and Ferrari 488. What are your thoughts on this? I can also have a few more made if there are interest.

option 1: Ferrari 458 style leds

option 2: Ferrari 458 style leds with Ferrari 488 led outer rings

The 488 style could look good. I don't like the 458 style.

And Scud Ing also has brand new tail light assemblies to replace your broken ones. I bought 4 new tail lights with the LED lights and love them.

Terry is probably looking for the same halo effect that the 488 has. The Scuding upgrade just makes the f430 lights brighter.

I think I remember a you tube vid of some guys that made an aftermarket led tail light like that. Didn't really fit the car. Too modern looking in my opinion. Found it

I too upgraded my tail lights to Scud Ing Swiss LED's and I am 1,000% happy.

Very well made and super bright.

Those look good! Will the car throw a code due to low wattage draw??
I may make it a winter project!

I tried to do just led bulbs and it threw a f1 pump light. It would go out when I hit the brakes and come on as soon as I let off. That's why I went with the scud ing lights. No lights or codes. Besides do you really want to chance breaking a tail light or water getting in them after taking them apart.

Is this a fairly straight forward DYI with Scud Ing?

I'm going to experiment w/mine! on my F430 spider and run heavy gauge wire fr a + and negative source and use 70 amp relays ! so the lights Image Unavailable, Please Login draw very little off the stock harness. I have a supply of these photo flash units as used on police and emergency vehicles ! they are OMG bright! flash @ 80 X per minute ( make any LED look like a dim candle! ) they will be for the turn signals LOL for the brake lights I will try the 50 watt halogen bulbs for the brake lights again W/ the 70 amp relays we have done this for many years on many cars and usually you don't have the brake lights on long enough to melt the plastic ! I'd go w/ the scudding swiss LED for just running tailights

the taillights are very easy to fix when they break w/ some epoxy or JB weld ! you can repair them a few times before needing new !

IIRC the bulbs in the Scud Ing kit are too, with a diffuser cap stuck on the end. It is the bases and electronicsthat are made by Scud Ing.

Interesting thoughts on this as a do-it-yourself build; however, I gave it five seconds and then started researching Sud Ing Swiss. I now have new rear LED’s, front turn signals and ecu, and an F1 relay ecu on the way! Thanks for giving me yet more upgrades to hide from my wife!!

Well I'm lucky I don't have to hide anything from my wife. she does shake her head at some of the things I spend money on! I I as well ordered the F1 relay and the front turn signal bulbs so I have a basis of comparison to see whether I can do better on the lights
The F1 pump relay seems a splendid idea albeit some of their claims I find a bit dubious (and my Ferrari mechanic agrees )it's rather nonsensical that you're transmission will shift faster because of the pump relay ! all the pump relay does is turn the pump off and on to maintain pressure that claim is certainly something that should be able to be empirically verified
Anyway, a totally electronic relay is a good idea and should be orders of magnitude more reliable than a mechanical one

.......................I know my turn signals and brake lights will be much brighter than the scud Led's and I can use their bulbs for the running lights and mayhaps those round circle halos too !
