I thought it would be helpful to put together a comprehensive value range based on the various models over the 308 production history. This range is for condition 1 to 4 cars (no basket cases, etc) exclusive of unique situations such as important provenance or delivery mile cars. Variables such as color, accessories, service history, will of course factor into the value, so this range should be adjusted accordingly. I would say a top 2 condition car would be at 75-80% of the high number and top condition 3 car around 65-70% of the high number. While we are in a bit of a buyers market for 308s at the moment, these numbers generally reflect actual sales in the market today of which I have knowledge. These values are for cars in the US. As always, it is open for discussion: 308 GTB VR DS $175-250k VR WS $125-200k Steel DS $100-170k US Carb NC- $50-$120k US Carb CAT - $40-$100k 2V US - $35-75k 2V Euro - $40-85k QV US - $50-110k QV Euro - $55–115k 308 GTS Carb US $40-90k Carb Euro $45-95k 2V US - $30-70k 2V Euro - $35-75k QV US - $40-90k QV Euro - $45-95k
I agree the Vetro and early dry sump cars are pulling ahead right now .Surprised the QV is not more sought after though.I'm in Europe not USA but seems similar.
Just my biased opinion, but it seems like the carbs vs injected QV is kind of the dividing line between the older classic Ferraris and the modern injected cars. It's possible that if you are leaning toward modern injected cars, there are some nice options that might make the QV less desirable. If you are looking for a classic Ferrari, and carbs tick that box, then the carbed 308 is about the best "entry level" classic Ferrari you can get.
If "entry level" refers to the price, maybe the 400/412" is the one [emoji846] Maybe not on the top list, even though its probably a nice car to drive... Skickat från min F5321 via Tapatalk
I totally agree, having moved from an i to a carb 308 a few years ago. The price chasm between the 308 (GTB/S & 4) and any other carburettor Ferrari is vast (400 excepted). What's more, it's the prettiest What a bargain.
Yes, I've always thought the 400/412 was pretty a pretty neat car. Really classy Italian style to it. And yes, I guess that would be a great entry level to the V12 sedan style of Ferrari. It would also apparently be quite the learning experience regarding maintenance etc. I guess that's why the 308 series may be the more palatable approach to Ferrari ownership.
Agreed. Does not look too bad at all in the photos. A lot better than this I was sent today for not much less... https://www.gullwingmotorcars.com/inventory_detailed.php?cid=3728 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Hi! I do not own a Ferrari-- but I want one! Always keeping an eye out for a 308. It feels silly to have preferences, having never even driven one, but I think the 84/85 seem like the most logical for me. Love black ones but I saw this on ebay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/1984-Ferrari-308-Quattrovalvole/223163954591 To me, that looks awesome! I wonder if there are any obvious red flags that stand out to your more trained eyes. Thanks everyone!
