I see one that is but has a small corner defect which you could switch parts with yours?

Its not just a corner defect....It has no way to switch day/night...so who knows what you will see when you put it on? ....I am not paying $330 plus $78 USD for a defective mirror...

Anyone seeing this thread.....if you know of any mirrors for a 308, please contact me....

Whatever you please be careful removing the rearview mirror, this how I cracked my windshield. If you don’t have the original, pic below shows the original base that the 308 uses without the double sided adhesive, so when I got my new glass, I ordered the double sided adhesive which is the correct shape from Ricambi but the P/N shows under the 348 parts catalog. I installed the base with the double sided adhesive which is a better idea because It would be easier to remove the base off the glass in the future, not like the original which is more like permanent. This base is also the same use on the Lancia MonteCarlo/Scorpion and Porche 914 just FYI.

You can see either one you wish by rotating the entire mirror up or down. (I never use day/night switches on mirrors anyway.)

Oh man, I tell you as soon as I heard that “click” sound, I knew already and my heart just stop. Then it took me nearly nine months to find a windshield that fits after I had tried six windshield, so please be careful.

I looked for many months for a good mirror and even bought a used one, took it apart to see how it was constructed and tried to find a fix for the day/night hinge tab-no luck. Most used mirrors have something wrong with them and they still are expensive.

If you are looking for a used mirror be sure to check the following:

The day/night tab is connected to the main mirror mounting by a thin piece of plastic, which acts like a hinge. If it breaks it will feel loose and won't stay locked in position...and obviously you won't have the night setting.

The mirror has a thin, clear glass right behind the frame, then the actual mirror is behind. Both of these can be replaced, if necessary.

The frame around the mirror can be removed. It is held on by four plastic tabs (two on the top and two on the bottom). The frame tabs fit into grooves in the main mirror body. If you use a thin knife blade, you can usually lift the frame to release the tabs on the top, then the frame comes off, but be careful because the outer glass can slip out. Work over a table with a thick towel on it.

The main mirror is held in by some rubber inserts. If the mirror has been taken apart, some may be missing and you may have to duplicate them to prevent the mirror from vibrating.

At the very least, if you buy a mirror, take it apart and clean the outer glass and main mirror. It make s a big difference.

As stated earlier, use double stick tape, not glue to adhere it to the windshield.

It’s a Vitaloni mirror isn’t it?... it must have been used on another Italian car of the period. It might be worth search for other contemporary Fiats and Alfas? You just might find something identical without the Ferrari tax.

That is for the base. I thought the OP is asking about a replacement mirror. Are the mirrors on those cars also the same?

I tell you what....my shop managed to knock mine off, base and all.

I find that after cleaning the glass off, I really don't miss it!!
A have the larger rectangular Vitaloni Turbo door mirrors, to check the rear view.

Let me make sure it has day/night function working.
What would you pay for the correct 1977 OEM unit??
