Something different, but inline with my Mondial. I was renting a garage where I kept my Mondial among other things. It was also my wrenching place with a lift as I was living in the middle of the city it was quite impossible to have a garage under or next to my house. Last year we bought a new home with some property near Amsterdam. However, it didn't had a garage, but enough room to build one!

So we did or at least I did. Respect to people who build their own house btw as a garage already is quite a build for someone who is not a construction worker. Nevertheless we rebuild 4 house so the next level was to build something :p

Well here it is a small topic of the build of my Scuderia for my Mondial. It will be 13ft (4m) wide and 25ft (8m) long.

We have clay ground here so that is perfect for the mold. However, I still have used plywood for the sides since forces are tremendous if when concrete is constant pushing beside the fact that the finish is more nice and shaped.

It will be a wooden Scuderia with brick layer underneath to get the wood from the ground. I was thinking of a Modena yellow (yellow is the color of Modena where Enzo was born) epoxy floor and a sideway garage door since I want to be able to have two cars in it with a lift.

    This is awesome.

Was the permitting/approval process a nightmare? Hopefully things improved since my days in Zeist (mid to late 80s).

it is unbelievable, but I actually didn't need a permit. Certain dimensions, or height I need to say, do not require a permit in my area. I think the reason for this is that it is an agriculture area, because no way this can be building in a suburb/city without a permit.

In general it has loosened up, because it brings money, capital tax an permits itself.

You know me I would, but someone still wants sort of a garden, what can I say :) ...and I can sacrifice some to a garden in order to buy a second Ferrari. That is eventually the deal! :D but let us first finish the house and see if the bottom of my wallet has not been surfaced!

How much I do want an F40, which is out of my reach anyway, it will most likely be a 400/412. We went to the Ferrari Museum two weeks ago in Maranello and Tanya mentioned she wants a 400 after seeing it.

So many material options to cover the roof to make it water proof. Regular epdm or white epdm to keep the warmth out, bitumen or even plastic. There is also a new product easy roofing, which is a kind of bitumen with a layer of aluminum on top. The back has adhesive to just role it out on your roof and it sticks (one time only) I like new stuff so I think I will go for the last.

    Kingspan insulation layer first.

I would go for Pirelli .....epdm rubber. That alu with bitumen looses with the warmth in summer. See it a lot here in Argentina ! Just temperary stuff.
Have a few GOOD experiences with Pirelli. Very lasting, easy to put and in 1 piece if needed. On top you can put small white ROUND stones against the weather influences.

    The floor looks great!

And I'm interested in the type of siding you are using... lap siding? The boards look different on the outside, compared to the inside.

Beautiful choice. And the architectural style reminds me of Frank Lloyd Wright, which is one of my favorites.

Would have been nice if you would have placed a mechanics pit to work under the car... Looks just awesome! Congrats!

Easy roofing with on the splits truck window kit. We'll see! for 1/6th of the price on material only I don't mind trying. The benefit of this one is that it reflects the sun in the summer.

We live 5meters below sea level :) ground water is in my street 50cm deep. I can never create a pit without spending serious money so that the pit does not float with every cloud-burst

    Thanks Ron!

I was well over busy for the whole morning! Most time went into preparation, getting it dust free (walls and beams), getting the last uneven spots flattened. Now we just need to wait for 24 hours!

I'll close it up as I put in small heating devices to accelerate the chemical reaction and with cold epoxy does not really harden very well soon.
