how many flushes is normal to get the transaxle clean after a heat exchanger failure?
yikes, my condolences! I've read that it's taken some people 3-4 flushes but I would flush it until there's no oily film in the coolant reservoir and no water/milky residue on the gearbox's fill dipstick
The heat exchanger did not leak very long. The radiator was easy but it took 3 flushes to get the gearbox oil clear. I was just wondering, seemed like one time should do the trick.
You can fill with atf run it just enough to circulate then drain and flush. You cThe atf is high detergent and absorbs more water so a good starting point. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
I did 3. That took care of it. What a huge PIA that heat exchanger job was! Image Unavailable, Please Login

When I work on the Ferrari, I just try to get the best deal I can. I drained the hoses and I let it drain for 2 days There must be some cavity in the transaxle that holds gear oil. maybe the pump?. Anyway I have a very clean transaxle now.
