I had my engine done by the team at Rothsport as well. Best in the business.

That was my thinking. I'll have the Gulf car at Rennsport.

My second RSR project just got back from the paint shop. My friend Freeman Thomas did the design to mimic the 917 "Hippie" race car. We started reassembly today. The motor will be like the first one I did with a Rothsport 3.5 motor. It looks totally MFI but it is stealth EFI, by looking at it you would never know.

    Hi Jon

I didn't realize you were doing Porsches now - just found this thread and spent the last 3 or 4 hours drooling over these pictures.

Fantastic attention to detail as with all your projects - well done!

    Dave

I do, I only live a few miles away. Either bring a Ferrari Dino or one of the Porsches!

My second build is done and time to show off! This was built starting with a 73 911, with metal flares, bumpers, and aluminum hood and handmade ducktail. No fiberglass was used. It has 930 turbo trailing arms and brakes with elephant racing bits and pieces. It has a front oil cooler and under fender oil cooler. External oil filler with custom machined cap. I used an extra large 25 litre center fill fuel tank with custom machined cap. 15x9 and 15x11 braid wheels with Michelin TB 15 tires. It's powered by a 3.5 litre Rothsport faux MFI but is actually EFI producing 350 HP. It coupled with a Euro 915 transmission with a Wevo short shift. Interior is Alcantara dash, headliner and other pieces. The livery was designed by the renowned car designer Freeman Thomas as a tribute to the 70 era Porsche 917 which was commonly referred to as the Hippie car. The livery along with all logo is painted using no vinyl. The paint job was done by Brad Diez at Speedzone paint. Those are the basics of the car with many more custom parts and touches. With 350 HP and weighing 2300 pounds it's incredibly fast and a thrill to drive. Today was its first outing.
