We are in Phoenix to attend all the car auctions, BJ, RM, Gooding, Bonham, Russo Steele. It will be interesting to see what the retail auction market will reveal about used car values in 2019. Somehow you have to account for the additional 20% cost added to the transaction between the 12% Buyers and 8% Sellers premiums. Regardless it's a good time to get some warmer weather and drool over some shiny paint and chrome!

The January auctions are always a great time. You can usually tell the locals from the tourists by what they are wearing. Locals will be bundled up and the tourists will have all their lanyards along with wearing shorts and flip flops. Enjoy our weather!

I was at Mecum in Kissimmee last week. 3,500 cars were advertised as crossing the block yet 32 pages (30 cars per page) of "The Bid Goes On" were posted on their website. That's close to a third of the cars. Sellers are thinking appreciation goes on forever. Buyers were obviously holding back.
