Very pleased with it, some fettling to do with jetting, as the Twink in it is heavily reworked, BRM valve sizes, ported, 10.9 comp and now drysumped. and DAVIS Craig electric water pump
Noice. I put a Davies-Craig EWP in mine about 15 years ago - makes a huge difference. The rest of your spec is similar to mine, although mine is BDR spec. Get it dyno tuned by a guy who knows Webers... and Twin Cams... or preferably both. Don't run the fuel pressure too high.
BDR ex Japanese I assume, as they didnt make many nice things, there is one for sale through the Lotus Club. This is my third Twink, two Elan's and now this Caterham which is fitted with an ex +2 Elan engine. I also replaced the dizzy with a 123 Ignition unit ( Bluetooth), gosh it starts easily. I am having a go with the Jetting myself, its a black art but this book is helpful along with friends with similar spec engines, also I would like to get it close to make it more driveable on light throttle, pulls hard from 4,500. I could do with that manual there’s a couple of 36 Webber’s on the Alfasud [emoji106] Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Waiting on timing belts, water pump and a whole bunch of hoses to turn up. Pulled the instrument binnacle today. Circuit board has seen better days, and pretty much explains why some of the dashboard lights and oil pressure gauge doesn’t work. No biggie, I will dismantle the whole lot and have a new circuit board coming. I’m having a great time tinkering with this thing [emoji3] Image Unavailable, Please Login
