i had one of those in 1983, the front end felt light. then I got a new Radian which I still have, 2700miles.
Bumping these because I'm interested as well. But sadly, I recently went to the Ducati dealer in Daytona, and they don't sell new Ducatis there anymore.
The white one is mine. Its at the Kanuti River crossing on the Dalton Highway Alaska just a little south of the Arctic Circle. In the background is the Alaska pipeline. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Had three in the stable, just sold the Ducati and Harley. The Aprilia Tuono Factory 1100 is the MOST brilliant damn bike I've ever had the pleasure of owning. The other two just sat there...I had to force myself to even ride them and that's coming from a Ducati fan. The keeper...
I miss her sometimes but I'm glad she went to a rider that would use her. It turned more heads than the Ferrari if you can believe that!
That was in the morning not long out of Fairbanks heading to Anchorage. After getting back to Fairbanks from the Circle we washed the bikes to get the mud off. They were pretty encrusted with it. As far as bugs go we washed windshields, face shields and lights every fuel stop but I dont recall much of a bug problem on the leg up to the Circle. Most of Northern BC, Yukon Terr. and Alaska as soon as you stopped there was a cloud of huge Mosquito's around you. We put 100% DEET on everything and then sprayed our clothes with aerosol. They would get to you right through your blue jeans otherwise. If your face was not covered with DEET and you stopped and opened your face shield they would fill your helmet. Aerosol by itself is pretty useless. By suggestion of many I know who go there fishing etc I had a few bottles of 100% DEET liquid and you really need it. The mosquito's have been known to kill sled dogs they can be so bad UC did a study in a spot I visited. It showed during summer an adult human with no clothing or repellent could be killed by them in 8 hours of exposure.
First liter bike about 6 years ago. I've had 18 bikes but you always will remember your first liter bike. Image Unavailable, Please Login
First My first S1000. I rode it from the dealership to a bike event at a local drag strip to race it. It was an amazing bike for its time. Second is my 06 GSXR1000, I really loved that bike as well, I still think they look modern. Last but not least the very clean 07 I owned. I bought it with 3700 miles from the original owner. The 07-08 bike IMO at the time was the best bike out and one day I think it will be a very collectible piece of Japanese Superbike history.
