I think the most obvious thing is the truth: They were built all with the other Ferrari cars at Carrozzeria Scaglietti in Modena. It would be very strange any other location: I never had any interest towards GT4 history, but I never heard that they were produced in another place than the Ferrari factory and Carrozzeria Scaglietti

    Ciao

So are we supposed to tell someone who asks to borrow a ring nut tool to buy one?
    I wouldn't do that .

I had the honor of helping catalogue Ludvigson's Ferrari pictures for the REVS metadata project. That was a fun job.

Wow are you serious ? That's awesome, In his book Ferrari the Factory there is photos of the 308 gt4 front section being assembled which he states was done by Bertone. But those photos are not in the REVS. I wonder why? And I'm Thinking he may have more photos of the GT4 at Bertone or where ever. How do we get them? Contact him? Sneak in dressed in black or what!?? I want those photos bad, really

Yes I volunteer there. We close to the public in August and I do work in the library then.

While the Ludvigsen slides i worked with included factory press stills in addition to ones that he took, I don't believe they included third party shots. Such as those he may have used in various publications. A check of the photo credits in that book might confirm that.

BTW Al I. Is intending to bring more than one GT/4 to Cavallino this year. Last I heard the Paris car might not ready then. I'll be there, but my car will be in the parking lot not on the lawn.

I could be wrong, but I think that's a Stratos and not a Urraco. But definitely a GT4 in B.G.

Certain Ferrari bodies were made by outside companies.
Both Pininfarina and Bertone in the era being discussed.

This pic lends credence to the story that the GT/4 was designed by Bertone as a Lamborghini originally.

BTW: The Stratos shares many parts between the 246 and GT4. The engine is from the 246. Many of the other trim pieces, gauges, levers and door-handles are from the GT4. It makes sense, that they'd be on the same assembly line, that day.

The german text says: "in the new Ferrari workshop, new build 308GT4 that, until today, have not found any taker, are waiting for their shipment to the United States".

Door handles and other trim pieces were too expensive to make unique for low production cars so builders such as Bertone used the same ones on many different models.
Look at those on a Fiat X 1/9.
