Ham at Ferrari would be fun--fun watching all the Hambone haters become Hamilton lovers. The head wrenching in here would be fascinating.
Pure speculation in my opinion, based on a flawed axiome: that every driver wants to race for Ferrari. Wrong; drivers want to race a winning car in a team that supports them through the season to win the title. With all its politics and lack of organisation, Ferrari isn't that team.
How many times does this guy repeat himself? The bigger and better question is will F1 (with ICE) be around after 2020...or will all the major teams go fully electric? Hamilton has nothing more to prove. And he has lots of other interests. I think he'll leave F1 at the end of 2019. Maybe hell take a run at the Indy 500 if it hasn't continued its loss of prestige. More likely he'll enter British politics.
I don't see him leaving after 2019 unless he doesn't win the title. If he wins the title, he will stay and try to get 7 in 2020. No reason not to from a career perspective.
I never bought that . First of all, Senna wanted the best car, and that wasn't a Ferrari then. Senna saw what happened to Prost when he went to Ferrari, and I don't think he wished to repeat that !! For 2 years, Senna chased a drive at Williams which had the best car, and he was well pissed off when arch-rival Prost got a contract there first. Senna finally got a contract for Williams in 1994.
Eh up Sean here....just anuther internet wannabee...load of rubbish. But I would not rule out a move to Ferrari at some stage.
Right now he's the best paid in the grid, has the best material an a puppet team mate. He won't move until Mercedes falls. And anyway, Ferrari hasn't look eager to hire him so far.
This As much as I would love to see Hamilton at Ferrari, by then he will be past his use-by-date. Might as well bring Alan Jones back and put him in the scarlet car.
Not that it does make this nonsense any more real but I think in the video it is said that Lewis might go to Ferrari AFTER his contract expired in 2020... so even the title is wrong and should read "Lewis To Ferrari 2021" Gesendet von meinem SM-G930F mit Tapatalk
Also, moving from Mercedes, an organisation that displays clinical efficiency and continuity, to the Scuderia that looks in constant turmoil and engaged in a permanent witch-hunt, probably doesn't look so attractive to Hamilton. The prospect may even look scary.
Everybody is happy at Mercedes as long as they're winning. But at some time they'll start loosing because nobody wins forever and at some time they'll run out political influence. It will be interesting. At Ferrari they can get rid of the team principal and the show goes on, but at Mercedes, being the boss one of the shareholders, Wolff would cut everybody's head to avoid his fall.
I don't think Mercedes will stay in F1 for ever, and I expect them to leave in the near future. Like most constructors, they come and go as they wish, to suit their marketing needs or depending on the business climate. Mercedes is like Honda, Toyota, Renault, BMW, Jaguar, Ford, etc ... They enter F1 to launch a campaign, and stay as long as they benefit from it. They leave when they have achieved their goals, or if the odds are staked against them. F1 is just an instrument for them, not the core business. Ferrari is different in that respect. They stay in F1, whatever the result.
The OP forgot to include the "?" In his thread title. Hamilton had his best year in 2018 with some assistance from Bottas ofcouse. As others have said he may have hit his peak in 2018 and we will see if he can sustain it. Who knows, Leclerc might be faster than both Vettel and Hamilton by 2020. And Leclerc might be trying to catch Max
What happened was that Prost got probably the best car and Senna had to crash into him to prevent him from winning the title.
