Yes it could be. Somewhat ironic that they modified the cars to register them in the USA. While in Canada the euro Boxers were legal and the 246 Dino was also legal here to. Road & Track drove a Countach that I believe originated in British Columbia. The gray market USA Boxers were a thriving business that Ferrari SpA personally didn't like. The legally complying Testarossa and F40 cemented Ferrari's stronger commitment to the USA market.
