I wonder if a new thread chronicling the development and launch of the F12 would be worth the effort?
It would be a nice place to have all the stories and photos including drawings by ingegnere.

Thanks Mario, you make this F12 passion on FChat come alive!

I read most of that 599 Sucessor thread and I presume you were one of the members around at the time that intervened in it. That first drawing made by the Ingengnere I suppose is only available here on FerrariChat, but the second and the third ones have been published and posted all over the world. In your quality of senior member with a long time around, may be you could ask the engineer to recall all that experience and make it the starting point of the new thread. I'm sure that will be highly appreciated.

As a small contribution to this amazing flashback, some photos taken before the press days of the salon, probably on 01/03/2012. I still remember how many times I stared at these particular photos a week or so before I went as a visitor.
Thank you again for your effort.

Thank you Spyros. I love this kind of unseen backstage pictures in this case when they were preparing for the big Geneva show. We all know that you are a specialist in finding pictures of Ferrari cars that no one else has seen before and this set of pictures is the reconfirmation of that.

Look at those sensual Grigio Scuro curves... everything I love. The wheels color can be debated, the rest surely not

Olivier recently and for the first time I saw with my eyes a Ferrari Grigio Scuro and I was very impressed about how good it looked. I just wonder what this F12 is doing in the middle of so may Aston Martins ? May be teasing them.

Concerning the second part, I have ne clue , but too bad you can't hear my impersonation of the italien accent in english "Hi the english giRRRls" (I imagine the F12 talkin to the astons)

Great sketches and observations. However, many draw a different conclusion about the success of the in-house designs thus far. IMO they are not being received as well as the prior PF designs with the exception of the Pista which is still the basic language of the PF 458. The 812s and Lusso are subjectively examples of a sub PF-par design execution. I do agree that the interior and exterior design will be very important going forward especially if ICE is at risk which of course is the heart of the brand.

A potential over embrace of electronic gadgets could draw the brand closer to mainstream and away from exclusivity. The biggest impacts and challenges to Ferrari were going public, the loss of PF, and power plant forced induction and electrification. They are still excelling in the complete package and the ability to control the ever powerful machine with magically physics-defying design and still no gawdy wings. I sincerely hope they retain that specialness and passion over their competition going forward. They will, however, have to support heir products much better especially basic issues like inherent paint corrosion and sticky plastic interior pieces. No excuse for those.

    The Pink F12’s

For many years I always thought that the only pink reference that existed in Ferrari’s lexicon was Pink Floyd’s guitarist David Gilmour who has a large collection of classical Ferraris. Some years ago and to my disbelief I saw for the first time the picture of a pink F430 in China and I couldn’t avoid shouting very loud “that’s blasphemy”. More recently while seeing newer pictures of a pink F12 I wondered who are the owners of these cars ? On my search until now I could only identify two real pink F12’s and a third that is less pink. The first one is in a pink color very close to the pantone 210 C and according to the spotter who took one of the pictures below is not wrapped - “I had to check it twice. This is the original color of the car!! “. Ferrari has banned completely the production of Pinks on the basis “ No more Pokémon Ferraris” and therefore one can only wonder if this 2014 F12 from Shanghai has an original paint or the job was done afterwards. Also according with the same spotter this car belongs to a woman who is on her late twenties and that comes as no surprise because in China women account for about 20 per cent of the brand sales and their Ferraris buying percentage is more than triple the western world average.
The second pink F12 is also from Shanghai and was pictured inside a dealership. At first sight the two cars have identical pink colors and also red calipers raising the possibility that they are the same car . A closer look however shows certain idiosyncrasies of the second F12 with the side windows frame and the rear wheels vents painted in lime green. No doubt another artistic exercise over the pink theme.
The third F12 of the list is in a chrome pink, less pink to my eyes, and was seen for the first time in Vancouver in 2015. The driver that can be seen in one of the pictures, is a young woman brunette and should she be the owner of the car, in statistical terms she is part of a tiny segment of the 6 per cent of privileged women that buy Ferraris in the western world.

For now supposedly with only three pink F12’s in the world and considering that only the Shanghai ones resemble Paris Hilton pink Bentley Continental GTC, we pretty assured that the last production Ferrari carrying the Pininfarina badge has been more or less immune to the little girls official color and therefore that doesn’t appear to be a sufficiently strong excuse for Enzo to resuscitate.

^The first two look like the color of Pepto Bismol, a medicine taken - appropriately - for upset stomachs.

Excellent to know these colours are around. Although I prefer my Grigio Titano. I note the F12 Berlinetta on the rear of the Pink F12. I presume it can be retrofitted. Thanks Paul

    Looks like Rosso Fuoco.

But an amped up color dial means it could be Corso Met or 2007 F1 or even Scuderia.
