I can confirm, that street SWB Berlinettas also had the 539/61 Chassis (not all, but some). And after having a look, I can confirm, that there hase been chassis tipo 539/61 comp. in the SEFAC Hot Rods.

In the case of 2383GT I´m not going on the info in Nowak's book. But I can confirm, he is correct with chassis and engine tipo.

The car was probably delivered in February 61, but it has the characteristics of those of late 1960 : profile of the top of the door, recessed license plate...but the cooling air vent should be on the roof, not on the rear window.

Unfortunately sometimes a mechanic left his fingerprints on an engine block. Seen often in France.

    Yes.
A shame, and I would personally kick the mechanic out of the shop for devalueing my car.

he could make his prints somewhere on the block far away from the original stamps. for example on the engine holder to the frame

How does Ferrari Classiche react to stampings like this--red flag it, merely note it or ignore it?

They ignore. As long as the numbers and suffix are bullet proof and correct and not touched at all.

This is a FAKE. Not a genuine 250 SWB Berlinetta.
