This US spec spider looks like a interesting project but not being able to get the VIN or even know the exact location of the car scares me a bit. The seats and the secret VIN points in the direction of water damage.

Somethings not right, A car with that few miles should never look like that, even if neglected. Its roughly at its salvage value now, I'd say its maxed out.
I've seen better project cars over the past several years for around that price.

    Wouldn't early 96 be a 5.2 car? Intakes say 2.7...

Also what little o f engine bay we can see looks very rough for that mileage.
I would not pay over 20k unless I could see in person.

Strange how it has the 5.2 single MAF and then it has the old style 2.7 power steering reservoir. That car looks well past it.

My 97’ came with the large lid power steering reservoir.
Has the fuel block recall been done of this car ?
Talk about driven hard and put away wet, stored in someone’s swimming pool ;)
    Door sill plates missing.

I didnt say I thought it was WORTH high 30s GBP! ;)

not sure we can judge it really - not having seen the history file or the potential state of it - the photos are not great are they?

From what is visible it looks like a whole lot more wrong with it that being stored in a damp garage. The front bumper appears to be cracked and chipped and there are other hefty chips elsewhere. The hood appears to be damaged on the passenger side. The strange discolouration, more on one side than the other, of the engine makes me wonder if it has been in or close to a fire. Dangling cables and, I think (difficult to see), a missing floor panel in the passenger side. Add in selling a US car in the UK (if indeed the car actually is in the UK - ad says it is but can't be sure from the photos) which makes it easier to lose unpalatable history and a vendor with almost no feedback and you'd have to be very brave indeed or very stupid indeed to even think about a bid on it. (And the bidding is already beyond what I think it is worth based on the pictures).

it made 34 gbp. People often bid on things just to turn up and then negotiate/walk away. If anyone bought that unseen, and is paying for it to be shipped/delivered - then good luck to them!!

probably ghost bidders last time it was on ebay or buyer walked away when they saw it.

looks a complete heap, i have restored a few, but there is no value in this whatsoever, you could not justify the time or expense in returning this to top condition.

all these cars look like they have been washed down the river

my favourite, the concourse etype......seriously WTF
    https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Jaguar-E-Type-Series-1-4-2-FH-Coupe-Concourse-Restored-best-in-the-market/382753416073?hash=item591de1a389:g:CZsAAOSwD1pcSmTn:rk:5:pf:1

not being an arse but a concourse is defined in the OED as "a large open area inside or in front of a public building"......thank god for that because this Jag is certainly not the definition of concours d'éloquence

£50k for that!!! Needs £20-30k spent on it; before you find all the "other stuff". Which is more than market value for a left hooker with a full history, so why would you?
