its as clean as your gonna get for an original interior. that car shows way better than anything on ebay right now and better than prior BAT sales.
I paid $68k for a 9700 mile prom night virgin with a fresh major and new tires. I'm not home and I forget how much I put in but not $10k. Those days are gone but you asked.
No, mine was better and so are others. It's not a bad car but far from a pristine example. I summed it up several posts back.
that's my point - how many of those do you think traded like that? id be shocked if it was a handful. so did the guy overpay by 10k - totally possible. did he overpay by 20k - unlikely. it's hard for people to digest but miles matter A TON. with 30k miles the car is worth 20k to 30k less all day.
Serious question. How many people believe that every 355 on the road have never been driven with a “broken” speed sensor or disconnected speed sensor. I once was behind a BMW M3 and clearly saw the harness just hanging un plugged and flapping in the wind. I can’t think like a criminal as it’s not in my DNA. But one could argue it’s not Federal Odometer fraud but an OBDII issue that could have gotten fixed before the sale. I dunno I just don’t trust what shows on the Odometer.
https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1997-ferrari-f355-spider-6/ Here is a 15k mile Spider that just sold on BAT for 70k...... that’s a whooping 36% discount from this $111,000 sale. Unreal.
Paint work on multiple panels. Interior is shot. Aftermarket stereo. Tacky carbon fiber pieces. Unregistered for a while. Questionable odometer reading. Are you guys in crack when ur comparing cars? Night and day difference. I wldnt buy that yellow car with someone else’s money. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I have had two. A 1998 Red Tan Spider, and now a 1997 Red Tan Spider. 30k miles, I am the 3rd owner for last 11, 30k belt service done last year at an FNA Dealer, headers, cats, and stickies done. It’s a beauty.
When I see restoration threads on total basket case 355’s that are likely in the 6-figure plus range, I can easily understand the logic of paying 6-figures for a virgin example with low miles and in excellent condition. It’s also a buyers market right now, so by that gauge, maybe the buyer paid a bit much, but it’s only a matter of time until the market creeps up again. I don’t think you can overpay for a good Ferrari. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Curious to hear about your M3 as I just bought one recently as well. You have $25k into it over the purchase price? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
It is only an indicator of miles driven.....a properly maintained car may show less wear/tear than an other driven much less and not cared for.
